My Starbucks

Yay! I finally redeemed my Starbucks diary.

Holiday Classes

I think, I really can't do BJ. Or, I can only keep it as holiday class to do ocassionally only. Can feel my knee throbing with pain when doing squat today.

Went to Axis on Thursday for my holiday gym regime. I seldom have the chance to join FI's class, so thought it would be good to join one (excluded BA in my plan becuase that cause pain to my knees too, besides, wanted to do BB with Hobbes, which clashes with BA).

Walked passed FI before class and my greeting to him was "早神" (good morning) at 2.00pm. And I must have looked like a sleepy head too since FI's reply was "重未昏醒啊?" (not awake yet?).

I was thrilled to see PiC there, already dripping in sweat when I saw her, just after RPM. We went to BB together and the class was packed, sardine type packed with all the regular supporters. Was my first time in the Mind and Body studio and my first impression of the newly renovated studio was, cool, but so stuffy? Feels like a hot BB and everyone was dripping in big sweat before the end of warm up!

Hobbes started the class with flowing Tai Chi moves, looking very cool and extremely good looking. But, he too was soaked in sweat in no time, trying very hard to keep the sweat away from his sights while still not failing in challenging all of us in some torturing poses (club ran out of towel that morning, poor thing). I had to say, it's much easier getting into the poses when my body was so warm, I was able to do my downward dog with a perfect inverted-V in the first round. Hobbes' BB was really good, with him looking so graceful in all the movements, I was really inspired! Quite a different feel from BP but as torturing as it can be!

BJ... could be better if my planned BJ buddy was there... even PiC had to go. I might have had Hobbes and gang as BJ buddies, but I stood at the wrong side of the class, having only FI as my "company" (yeah, Hobbes joined the class too, and he really has the grooves).

FI and his trademark blur-ness never fail to entertain the class, adding on to that would be his usual drama, looking very "sexy" and "hot". Haha... But "blur-ness" aside, FI's cueing has always been very good and movements are very easy to follow. I am really quite bad in BJ, only barely manage the new tracks but luckily there were some familiar old tracks - the jungle track as well. Though feeling a bit bored since no company, but I could always breeze through whenever it's FI's class, no sweat (literally no sweat since the main studio in contrast was well air-conditioned). The finale was an extremely "drama", I will always love you track. Whoopss... I think I was not suppose to tell.

Trifle

Made this last weekend but the pictures I took were very unclear, so tried to retake some pictures before posting.

I actually love trifle a lot. I used to store trifles in my fridge all year round when I was studying in UK. My favorite were from Marks & Spencer, the strawberry or mix fruit trifles. They were like about 1.99 pounds per tub of 500g (about RM8 at that time), quite affordable right?

So far I've only tried making trifles from "convenient" pack. Those with ready mix powder for the jelly, custard and cream, complete with sponge fingers. Only finally tried a "DYI" one because I had a lot of whipping cream which will turn bad soon if I don't use, and I don't want to waste them. Chose a "semi" homemade recipe. (Semi because I didn't make the custard from scratch, used custard powder.)

The result... the whipping cream was fantastic, ok, not whipping cream, it's whip topping - slightly sweeten, lighter, fluffier, easier to whip and very stable (won't turn watery easily). The custard was too watery, wonder if it's because the custard powder sold in UK (English recipe) is different from the one I bought?

These were scooped out from the bigger bowl

Definitely MUST use crystal jelly... I forgot to buy jelly powder so I had to stopped by at the little small town grocery shop near my house, and they only have this Japanese jelly (which is now MC's new found favorite) which is too arrr... "chewy", more rubbery texture which is not suitable for trifles.

The jam roll (Swiss roll) was ok, perhaps one with more jam will be tastier. I feel that more fruits will be better, but since I like making these into small ramekins (because it gives the feel good factor of eating the "whole" tub all by myself. Scooping from a big bowl will cause the remaining trifle to becoming "watery"), I would need to place the fruits within the jelly otherwise the trifle might just overflow.

Made a bigger bowl also

Definitely "neater" looking in small ramekins

I will also experiment the chocolate mousse trifle the next round. Lets have a series of trifles!

I Can't Decide Wednesday

Wednesday has always been my off-day for gym, but I've joined a Pump class at Uptown on Wednesday this week. Reason is because I've not got enough weights train. Besides, doing only one pump class a week just isn't going to help with the strength.

By the way, FF Uptown is reaaaally cold! Geezzzz...

Spoke to my "new found" pump instructor before the class. Reminds me of my SPK days where she was still the GXC there and I'd always been amazed and grateful of how up-to-date the internet timetable was. So, now if I do this Wednesday pump, I'll be in good hands of a chiropractor's assistant, how cool and comforting! I was being reminded to sit, stand properly and always keeping my core firm and spine straight, so as to keep all physical problems and pain away during old age (or in fact, now). I do have the bad habit of slumping in my chair and slouch when I walk.

The class was a bit small in number, so a little bit more attention from teacher - I had to stand wider during lunges; need to stand my feet closer during back track (yes, when I am loosing strength I tend to do wider stand, especially during clean and press :p); I got an "are you ok" during bicep, in fact, before even the track start. I am THAT not ok with biceps okay, humphhh...

I might need to seriously consider adding more weights to my squat track, teacher with such petite small body is already using 12.5kg, me almost double her size is only carrying 10kg yiaks... We were also told that one way to tone up and loose the arm flabs faster is to increase weights (plate weights ya, not our OWN weights, haha) for chest and back track, according to what our body can take lah of course. I'm already struggling now. So I'll pass...

The class was packed with tips on postures and techniques on movements, definitely one I want to permanently have in my new gym routine. But... which means I really do need to make Tuesday my off day otherwise I'll be working out without rest day (need more sleep also since Monday most probably is gonna be double class, ending at 9.30pm). Ultimately, it means I can't even try out going to Maxis on Tuesday for free-style step.

I really can't decide yet...

By the way, the studio was also reaaaally cold, maybe because there weren't so many of us, and I was quite near to the air-condition.

Will you forgive me...?

Got a really last minute order on Wednesday night from a complete stranger, whom needed to say sorry urgently. Accepted the order out of my normal one week advance notice.

But... is he asking for forgiveness? Sounded to me more like, "I am sorry", full stop... A full stop forever.

SSB: you are right, instead of having this long word on 12 large cupcakes, it's better this way like you've suggested. This way I don't have to apologize on behalf for a dozen times. Haha... It has not been such cheery moments though, making these cupcakes.

Something to sweeten up your day...

Eat up darling, you are far far away from being fat. Besides, like you said, you can afford to eat. :)

Anticipation

等待

等待,是一种怎样的滋味?
是甜甜的喜悦? 是酸酸的嫉妒? 是苦苦的思念? 还是辣辣的心痛?

等待,像是一种没有特效药的疾病;
不会传染, 只会在心里永无止境的滋生。

Yeah I did :-)

I think...

Anticipation is, stomach full of butterflies - if you are waiting for a person who makes your heart skip that beat; if you are waiting for an sms, an email, a MSN message...

Anticipation is, like a life sentence - if you are waiting for a person who makes your heart aches; if you are waiting for his response, his acknowledgement, his answer...

Anticipation is a mixed feeling, a sickness with no antidote.
Anticipation is not infectious, but it will infest in the person's heart forever.
Waiting, is eternity.
