What's with the "crush"??

I've just checked with one of my best friends - Dictionary.com (Wikepedia and Google are two of my other best friends) - the definition of "crush". And I don't mean "to compress with violence, out of natural shape or condition" (with three times your body weight - this is a private joke).

A few of you told me I'm having a "crush", and I suppose you mean (as D.c has suggested) "temporary love of an adolescent [syn: puppy love] " (and "puppy love" means "temporary infatuation of a boy or girl for another person"; And "infatuation" means "foolish or all-absorbing passion or an instance of this: a mere infatuation that will not last") Geezz... so many definitions.

Tonight, MC and BIL unanimously told me "You are NOT having a crush."

Honestly, I do feel strange that my "situation" has been described as a "crush". But I couldn't disagree or put my finger on it, because I don't know why I felt that way. So. Why is it not a "crush"?

"Because you are too rationale."

But I'm always rationale (Best Friend said rationale means "the fundamental reason or reasons serving to account for something"), that's why I'm all analysing, weighing consequences and setting priorities.

After some brainstorming on my character and his, MC and BIL concluded that I'm to be defined as "being attracted to him".

BIL said "You need a strong, silent person, who can be your anchor in the sea".

Thanks bro, a very apt statement. Hit on.

What's with the hair??

MC said she needed a hair cut, a rather dramatic "change" - from her more than shoulder length hair to something as short as mine. Well, I wouldn't say my hair is THAT short, not the boyish short hair, but nonetheless, I am called with short hair.

So there we were last Sunday at Halim's, my hairdresser for the passed 7 years. I like his style, meaning I love my hairstyle. There had been many "trial and error" on my hairstyle and colour, but I can say that finally now I can "confirm" this hairstyle and colour for a while, until perhaps I need a "change".

Arrived at the salon and, wow, my hairdresser changed his hairstyle too. Crop short. He told me he had his hair all shaved the other night when Rafik passed away. He was really upset and had to do "something". So hair it was.

And our dear Carebear had her hair cut too... Needed a "change"?

I do agree, I had been through numerous times of longing for a change, and most of the time, I'll think about the hair first. Perhaps that's the easiest thing to change on us in the shortest possible time.

Me still undergoing my fashion change because I love my hairstyle and don't intend to change it for some time.

Meanwhile, MC is really happy with her "new hair" until she asked me to send the hairdresser a thank you and well done message.

What's with the speed??

I felt like I've dazed through the whole evening and everything happened with fast forward speed...

First was my work day which was very long but felt like I've breezed through, before I realized, it was already 7.30pm. Sorry LGM, I didn't know you were waiting for me purposely, I expect you to be combating while I leisurely take my time to get to gym.

Since I didn't join combat, I did my warm up on the treadmill (just because the cardio wave machines were all taken) and I was only at 12 minutes when I realized that combat was over. By the time I reached the studio, half of the space was taken, luckily I could still stand at my favorite and usual spot.

Did you started the class early today dear?

Once the class started, it was even more unbelievable speedy. I felt like the class was being fast forwarded. What I meant is this, for instance... I was really tired already during the overhead presses during warm-up, was like already aiya-ing and dragging for the track to end. But while I was still dragging, the track ended - OH!! No biceps curls to end the track. Great. And Phew.

Then I felt the same for chest track, that was, if I remember correctly, a tough track (side note: missed a few moves, the cueing can be maybe a beat faster? Just a little bit. Oh, no, that was not Carebear, it was the team-teaching instructor), but while I was controlling not to scream too much too early, the track ended. Phew. Surprisingly, biceps track seem short to me... And so on so on... I must be so dazed like I said. Even the shoulder track which I HATED so much (You were right! It's because of the annoying song and the part when you thought the track was over BUT continue with more overhead presses) ended so quickly.

I'm sure you got the idea. So before I knew, the classes ended. Hmm... Even my journey back home felt quick.

Today had simply whooshed passed to me. It would probably mean I will age faster too.

Banana Cupcake with Dark Chocolate Ganache

To be precise, this is a banana, dates, chocolate chips with walnut topping cupcake with Lindt dark chocolate butter ganache. The name is so long, so used short form for title.

The original cake was a tea-time loaf cake, MC baked this a few months before and I thought it's a good banana cake recipe. So, instead of using my usual butter cake and making them into banana cake, I used this banana cake recipe.

The result, I don't know, because I've not tried eating them yet. But this is a "smaller" recipe, so LGM, sorry, I couldn't give you half dozen of muffins...

The baked cupcakes

The icing is a dark chocolate butter ganache. Actually added a bit of milk, so I suppose this should be called a chocolate milk ganache.

Cupcakes with icing

The decoration for the cupcake, I made some "banana disk", inspired by this blog. It's called the caramelized banana disk, which I might call them "fried" bananas.

The caramelized banana

The decorated cupcakes

Note to Carebear and LGM:

I've actually baked some different banana cupcakes for you gals. This is what you gals are getting...

Carebear - 2 pieces of banana choc chips muffins (no icing) & 2 pieces the above.
LGM - 2 pieces of banana raisins muffins (no icing) & 2 pieces the above.

Sorry to "force" you gals take the ones with the icing. I didn't want to waste the chocolate ganache! So I've put icing to all the cupcakes. Give it to someone else if you can manage to find, BUT give me the feedback! Then I can improve on this recipe or perhaps I can try out some other banana muffin recipe some other time.

Change of theme

I thought of changing the theme of the banana chocolate chips cupcakes to banana, dates and choc chips cupcakes. But there will still be some banana raisins as requested. Was busy baking the cupcakes for SSB last night, and the icing this afternoon, so the special theme cupcakes will be tomorrow (actually today since it's after midnight already).

I'm actually quite surprise to discover that there are quite many anonymous readers in this blog recently. For those who knows me, and those who have a good guessing of who I am, no need to mention my name in here. Thanks...

On the other note. It's actually good to learn so many different point of views. All of them are really refreshing. I'm glad that there is not more "rude" comments in here (Thank you).

On the topic of "analysing" though, I think many of us would never be able to stop ourselves completely from analysing. It's a habit for me. But, one thing I believe we (I) can control is the next course of action. It's best not to act based on what we "guess", to be at the safe side is always, well, safer.

Finally, I think I read too many romance stories... Having said that, I'm retiring from blogging to go finish one.

Milo Cupcakes

SSB aka Milo Baby is back for a few days. How could I not indulge you with cupcakes? Especially after your statement of missing the cupcakes? And the Milo theme is because of your recent story on Milo search in Indonesia. Poor thing. I do hope you like this 2-in-1 indulgence.

Note to the recipe: This is my usual butter cupcakes. The icing was enhanced with the Milo flavour. But I must remember the "procedure" the next time and not got overly excited when adding in the Milo powder. The Milo should be dissolved in warm water first so that there will not be any lumpy Milo powder in the icing, which might block my nozzle when piping.

Thinking of someone...

Just how do you tell someone? In many situation, it's NOT possible to tell someone you miss him. Especially someone who doesn't know that it is possible for you to be thinking of him.

Yes, relationship has to be worked on and if you don't try you will never know. But, certain relationships are maybe best to be left where they are to avoid complications, contradictions and possible disappointments.

"The reason you are no longer feeling that chemistry between you and her is because you have feelings for someone else?"

"I wish I am... haha... but no"

Okay, so he doesn't have feeling towards anyone. No one, right?

The C.Bs and K.Bs

Here they are... I received these on Monday.

This was really what I wanted and kept reminding someone to get for me. I got this eventually, but not from the someone I hope to get it from, it's bought by someone else and brought back by someone.

But someone did give me smaller version of this. And I got another something specially for me from the mentioned someone, whereas the other office mates had to share. Because I'm special, so I was told. Really...

The one that surprised me most was actually this one.

The packaging alone was so sweet till I actually didn't mind getting an empty box.

I love the paw, reminds me of Carebear somehow, :p. LGM were you thinking of Carebear when you wrap this pressie? Hehe...

Went to gym for my present

First of all, before I start blabbering - THANK YOU LGM!!!

Got a message in my blog from LGM late today evening that she'll be present-ing me something. Yay! Though I did plan to go for pump, but the thought of a present gave me extra motivation. However, I didn't make it to gym earlier and was just about on time for BP, because it has been too busy at work. Since my boss just came back from his one week business trip today, I've spent more than half of my day in discussions with him for updates and new tasks. It didn't help with the bigboss deciding to choose today to give us some directions in work. And geezzz... just when I thought my bigboss has gotten so much more easier to work for, he'd got into a roller coaster mood swing today - and may I blame my (immediate) boss? He seemed to be the reason bigboss yelled most of the time. Sighsss... I cannot work when people start yelling. Seriously.

Anyways, back at gym, when I climbed the staircase to get to the changing room, I was greeted by a warm smile which belonged to a very holy-looking Carebear - Oh, she was standing just above the spotlight hence the "holy glow" - in her new sexy tank top. Heard she have had a great time at a good friend's wedding, which explained her cheery mood, with more laughter while she chitchat with her member-friends before class. Nevertheless, it didn't mean we don't get tortured in class when teacher's in good mood haha... well, actually, it was not THAT bad lah since I had a lot of energy reserved because I didn't workout before BP.

The class was filled up to the max, I thought my position was rather "dangerous" at times with the potential of getting hit by the bars of these two members beside me. Besides the regulars, some "special guests" were in the house tonight - some not-so-regular-but-was-there-for-a-reason-tonight-members plus the combat master making special appearance.

The tracks... These were the few tracks which I've done in three consecutive BP classes: warm-up track (don't know what name, but too many single biceps curls, had to cheat. On second thought, maybe I've only done this two times instead of three), chest track (Summer Rain - the bottom up and bottom halves can really kill) and abs (Shake Your Tail Feather - yay! I'm still loving this!). The back track was same with the one I did with Hobbes on Saturday, four clean and presses in a row was no joke, some more we did 2 sets of clean and presses before we got the short break. Felt like arms were about to detached from shoulder.

Meanwhile... it's actually time to sleep. I'll tell you about the koala bears tomorrow. Thank you god for answering my prayers - I got koala bears from three persons! And yeah, hehe... I think I've been koala-bear-ing too much in my last few blogs. :p

But... one of the koalas was not from who I'd wished it was from...

My comment awaiting moderation

I used to keep diary when I was little (whoopss... nearly typed dairy, I always have problems with those two words). I have those with little locks some more and those were little books which carried huge secrets. No one will be allowed to read my diary of course, and surprisingly, everyone (almost, at least all those around me) during that era (or even until now) understand and respect that diary entries are supposed to be secret and will not pry into.

Now with my blog writing, it gives me the feeling of writing diary. Only it's a shared diary and everyone is reading into my secrets. The difference might be that people who are reading my blog are strangers, or at least strangers to TTB. So much of me trying to keep a secret identity, some of my friends are mentioning my name in your comments, may I ask to delete those? I haven't enable the comment moderation function, just thought of keeping this as a "free-speech-area". I want my friends' comments to be published straight away, and others would be reading them even though I haven't got time to moderate. BUT, having said that, PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE RUDE COMMENTS IN MY BLOG. Just got to remember - blogs, although are published, they are still personal opinions and feelings, so long as I don't mention your name in here and associate your name with rude and unreasonable comments, I feel that no one should simply leave comments that upset the author.

Okay... meanwhile, due to rather "strange" comments (wanted to use the other "S" word. But...) my comments in another blog is awaiting moderation.

Oh, I went to Hobbes' pump on Saturday and really enjoyed it so so much, I think we all got bored with the 3 weeks of same tracks. I was glad the abs track was Shake Your Tail Feather... I really need to work my abs, but I am bad with abs workout that requires holding up my legs for too long, my hip flexor is very weak and find it hard to maintain my legs in the air.

Due to a sufficient 9-hour sleep the night before, I found myself really energetic during the class, and was able to really work my muscle. I shall try to maintain enough amount of sleep... so perhaps I should go sleep now...

Have a good week ahead everyone! I hope I don't get sad news during the coming week, last week was really really very tiring.

Carrot Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Frosting

I finally made the carrot cake... Was supposed to make it last weekend but I didn't have cream cheese. Okay, not that I couldn't buy, but I didn't buy because the price tag said "RM10.29" at the section where the 250gm Philadelphia Cream Cheese was displayed, and I was not at Cold Storage, I was at Econsave - Shouldn't the price be cheaper? The last time I bought a block of this cream cheese, it was RM8.99 thereabout. But I found out yesterday when I got my cream cheese at Giant, that the RM10.29 price is standard. Gosshhh... inflation!

Anyways, I've made the carrot cake into cupcakes so I will be indulging myself during the next few days. Baking alone was already very indulging for me. Hee...

One thing about carrot cake is, if the carrot are grated too coarsely, when you eat the cake, you will feel like you are chewing vegetables instead of eating cake.

It was a recipe with walnuts only, but I've added raisins and chocolate chips too. The carrot cake from San Francisco Coffee was only with raisins, I thought walnuts suit carrot cake very well. Chocolate chips is just random decision, in case I'm offering these cakes to any chocoholic. Haha...

When you are using oil as an ingredient, make sure the cake mix is well mixed.

The cuppies turn out nicely in their dome shapes.

But for this particular batch, it's actually better to have them raised evenly and not exceeding the height of the paper cups. Because...

Unless I trim the top (what a waste of cake!), otherwise, the icing will not fully cover the cake.

As oppose to this... see, the icing can be spread evenly.

Decoration time - with coloured butter icing. You only need two piping bags.

Pipe out the "body" of the carrot, give it a bit of jagged effect...

When doing the leaves, give it a bit of pull outwards to achieve a more 3D effect.

Now, would you know what cake it is if I don't mention?

It's Martin's birthday next week, so since we were going over to his place for dim sum, gave him his early birthday present. Happy birthday darling, muahs...

And another box for my sister's friends visiting Malaysia. Hope they like them.

Had one as my dessert just now after dinner.

The cake is very dense, you wouldn't really be able to "detect" the carrots, yet, it's the typical carrot cake taste. Would you try one for me?

Oh no OH NO! Zip alert!

Okay, I realized when I arrived at office just now that a small part of the zip of my pants is "broken". The zip is fine, just that the thread of this small part had fall apart so the chances of a hole being seen is quite high.

Buy new pants during lunch time? Should I?

Oh no.... OH NO!

Pump It

I always make mental notes to blog about this, but so far didn't mention yet - I really find this parking attendant at MML annoying. Every time I leave the car park, she will make me hold up the parking ticket to her for aaaaaaages before she finally "notice" me (AND my BIG car) stopping by the side of her booth. And then she will take her own sweet time to verify the FF stamp before she let me out. Humphhh... Okay, cool. Know what? I notice tonight that she is actually quite an elderly woman, still had to work and perhaps having poor eye sight. So, I should really be nice.

I realize that I'm not the only few who are choosy about instructors. Today's BP was more filled up than most of the weeks with a more "interesting" crowd. Some really "terror" members were in the house. Most members carried super heavy weights - for squat one of the ladies was doing 17.5kg and one guy doing 22.5kg - with the tiny lady instructor doing 15kgs. No wonder instructor said no more 10kg plates available for her. I felt really weak carrying 10kgs for my squat weights!

So, due to the fantastic turn up for the class of this replacement instructor, the best spot I could get were right at the back, in the middle. Nothing to complain about, I like being at the back, just that I was flanked by this newbie - nothing wrong with him, just worried that he might have bad "space management" - and the other side by this guy who carries 7.5kg for warm up - also nothing wrong with heavy warm up weights, just thought he was wearing a bit of this show-off look on his face. But, I'd to say, his show-off lasted as long as the warm up track. Then after he was using 10kg for squat (same with me), 7.5kg for chest (if I remember correctly, but weak-me was already carrying 6kg lah), 7.5kg for back track (same here), can't remember what for triceps, and I think was 5kg for biceps... no weights for lunges (how can? I was doing 6kg today - bar!)... Anyways, so bad of me to comment other people's weight selection. Whoopsss...

Today was back to mixed tracks. There were some familiar tracks which meant was bad because those were familiar tracks from Carebear's playlist. The one I found most torturing is the Boom boom back track. I could never manage well with 6 clean and presses. The triceps track which started off with kick-back was really effective for me - I find that I can work my triceps muscle better with kick-backs - I could really feel my triceps muscles worked out during stretching time. Although I generally hate (fear) biceps track, I like this particular short-and-furious track, Pump It! Oh, the abs track was one of my favorites too - Shake Your Tail Feather. Like the punching bit towards the end. Oh, and the reason why I was using bar during lunges was because there were squats in that track. So didn't hug weights which I will usually do during lunges.

Earlier, it has been really busy at work. I didn't fall asleep in the meeting this morning because I was chairing it. A new colleague just joined us and I was also busy "talking" to him the whole day. Young guy, 26 years old (young lah compared with me) and looks like he could perform well. Hope he last long in the company.

There are actually loads to do at work, I better set my priorities right tomorrow!

By the way, I'm changing MG's nickname to MFG...

And when are you leaving for China again? Have a safe trip TD!

Wednesday, April 16, 2008

Okay

I have "recovered" today. I simply looked terrible last two days, too much crying made my face looked slimmer - commented by one of my friends. Really? How can that be lah... But I'm feeling much better today, thank you gals, guys for cheering me on during the last two days.

Will blog more during the next few days. Feeling so drained and really lack of sleep. I've got an early morning meeting tomorrow, I hope I don't fall asleep.

Today I asked for a koala bear, actually I told you kangaroo also can...
You said "you'll see" - sounds like "lets see how", didn't buy yet I supposed.
It's not about the koala bear, actually, why do I want any stuff toys. It's about getting a present from you...

Saw him one last time...

Do you know how it feels to see someone, and know that this would be the last time seeing him?

Got a call from my hairdresser at 5pm-ish. He told me he just visited a friend of ours in the hospital being seriously ill. I recall visiting him a few years ago, was it two? He was really sick at that time and nearly died, but miraculously, he lived.

"What did the doctor said?"
"He has one to two weeks..."

Did my hairdresser just said "week"?

Had to tear myself from urgent work tasks and left for the hospital at 7pm. Tears were welling up in my eyes when I was driving and almost reaching UM PJ. Went to the ICU at 3rd floor and couldn't find his name. The nurse said he might be at 5th floor. I couldn't find him there either.

I finally called my hairdresser, and apparently he's at 3rd floor at the connecting wing. I should have called to ask him earlier.

"Hi (nurse), is there a patient by the name of Amrafik?"
"Yes, unit 10... his family are there..."
"How is he doing?"
"He just died..."

Did the nurse just said he's dying? I knew that... is there no chance? But wait...

"Sorry, what did you say...?"
"He just died, 10 minutes ago... at 7.35pm"

I finally saw him, once muscular and well built, very particular about hairstyle, now laid motionless, thin hair on a skull which looked like a 5 year old's. I was shocked and devastated, he was unrecognizable, but peacefully asleep.

His mum spoke to me later... She said there were a lot of them who'd visited him the day before, many ex-colleagues and friends. She was glad that all eight brothers and sisters were there by his side when he passed away. I was supposed to comfort her, but I couldn't hold back my tears when she said "he was a good kid" and burst into tears herself. In between sobs, she said, "Please tell everyone he knew that he sends his apologies..."

Sigh...

While I was saying my prayers, someone came over and gave me a big hug and made me cry more. His sister, the one I met the last time I came visit him. She told me he'd been admitted and fighting death since 6 months ago. She was at the hospital alone earlier the day, no one came. She said she was then finally relieved and grateful that his two best friends, including my hairdresser, whom he wanted to see most, but no one had their contacts, finally came in the evening today.

Do we always know when we had to see our friend because it's our last chance? If we do, we are so lucky. I was 10 minutes late...

Left the hospital at 9pm plus. My ticket said 7.29pm.

I am sad because I missed him by 10 minutes... but, perhaps god didn't want me to see his last suffering moments. I will always have his peaceful image in my memory...

Much earlier today, I sms-ed MG telling him I miss him so much and if I can talk to him... he didn't reply my text, but called me back instantly. I wish he's here to share my sorrow and cheer me on...

Sis, thanks for being by my side.

If you want to talk to someone, do it now; If you meant to meet up with someone, do it immediately. Cherish every moment and everyone around you, especially those you care - you can find some other time, but you might not be able to find the person then...

How does The Baker look like?

I didn't bake this weekend, one reason was laziness, the other was, as I told SSB and MB on MSN, there's no one to give the baked product to...

But, can you believe this, I actually joined a RPM class! I was on constant kind reminder from TD and the way she crafted her reminders, there's no way that I can, as I quote, "ter-forget" to go to the class. I can't even say I couldn't join because I brought the wrong attire - if you have read the last post, there was a complete list of details for the class. No mistaken of venue and time, and to complete the "package" I got a treat before class, how's that? Instructors now a days are very creative and have the best interest of the members at heart, they do everything to make sure you attend class, workout hard, and achieve results!

So, there I was, in the RPM studio 15 minutes before class - after a hearty brunch at Kopi O (I love the roti bakar!) - seat all adjusted to the most ideal position, with the help of TD. I don't remember being seated so comfortably during my last few RPM classes (some 2 years ago). I think it's the way the bike (the height of the saddle) is being adjusted - instead of measuring the seat to my hip while standing on the ground, it's measured with the height of my thigh at 90 degree standing on the plinth of the bike.

I heard someone was looking for TTB, and told TD that she couldn't find one that looks happy and like a baker. How does a baker look like by the way? I was seated one row behind and in between Lady Nina and Sham (so I was told by TD it's her). The one with the bandanna and tried to wear to the theme colour of RPM (and was using a dark blue towel).

I'm already feeling my butt ache, not because of the exercise, but the result of seating on the saddle.

The class was great, team-teach by Lilian and TD - high energy level and loads of fun, packed with fantastic "performances" by the instructors. This is the type of class where you don't need to bother about being annoyed by other members encroaching onto your space. However, I think one thing we must try to resist is the resistance - to resist not to unwind the resistance too soon! It's all up in the mind, determination is something we need in RPM classes! Great choice of a cardio class if you are looking for one hardcore class - one thing is, don't cheat. :p

I really didn't know what's the Cow all about, till I asked Lady Nina after the class. Oh, so it was the song title of the BC track, the one with the double back kick, I love that track! No wonder TD was telling us to resist the urge of doing back kicks. I was already feeling like a piece of dead meat during recovery, wondering then when would the class ever going to end. Towards the end of the class, it was great sense of achievement, really good workout for the lower body, heart rate pushed to the max, and not to mention me leaving behind a puddle of sweat underneath the bike. Haha... I think I so deserve a piece of cheesecake!

My legs were shaking when I walked up the stairs, I think it's a better idea to unwind and chill downstairs before walking up, but I had to rush. Yeah, was meeting up "someone special", as TD said, after the class. Is it a good idea to mention this in here, I wonder. Oh well, finger cross he's not going to read my blog.

Wish SSB was there too, we'll sure have loads of fun!

Presents from Japan!

My sis aka MC was back last night. She bought loads of stuff, from the description of the shopping place, I think if I were there, I would have bought 10 times more!!! Here are some highlights...

A new addition to my handphone... a love charm. Haha... they look so cute, and smell good too.

A wrist band, for gym use - it says "sure win" and means you can do it!

Some origami papers which looks so much like fabric, looking very delicate. MC gave these to Aunt, not sure if she will use them - they are too pretty, just feel like framing them up!

A variety of Kit Kats!!! Green tea, apple, sakura and cookies and milk.

Pretty right?

See how much MC bought!! You will not be able to stop yourself too I think, I know I won't.

Some very special flavoured, Japanese muachi.

Memory Malfunction

I have been quite a forgetful person. Always forget things in a blink of eyes. Like last night, while I was walking out from the kitchen, mum told me to switch off the fan when I passed the switches, like 10 steps ahead. I gave her a bright Okay, and within 10 steps down to the switch, I forgot and walked pass without even noticing switches, leave alone switching off the fan.

Yesterday I left the office forgetting to lock my drawer. I always lock my drawer! Last night before I went to bed, I slotted in a piece of card and present into my handbag, something I must bring today to the office. This morning I took them out - the card is big, it wouldn't fit my handbag - and put them at the side of my handbag. And guess what? Yeah, I left it at home!

AND, just now when waiting for the lift to come up to the office, I wanted to check the time, and arghhhh... I forgot to wear my watch, but I'm wearing my beads-bracelet - I always wear the bracelet TOGETHER with my watch, in fact, they are always placed together.

The thing is, I can't even remember why I forget things. Now that I think back, and search my memory, when I forgot what I was supposed to do, my mind was on something else. I am the kind who constantly have something going on in my mind, always distracted, always day dreaming - too much planning, too much imaginations. I guess that's why I kept forgetting things - but it's just very bad today, these two days. VERY frustrating!!!

I hope I remember that I need to go to RPM this Sunday - since it is not my normal routine.

Chocolate Cupcakes with Lindt Dark Chocolate Icing

I made these cupcakes the weekend before last and didn't bake last weekend. I need to bake something this weekend to cheer me up. And I need to bake something new so that it's not boring.

I was really upset with the CB carrot cake last weekend. MSN-ed MB last few days and she told me the carrot cake at San Francisco is delicious and better than CB's. So I went to pick up a piece when I'm at KLCC on Tuesday. Not bad, fresh and soft, 2 layers of icing, so that's better than Dome Cafe's. Much better than the one I had at CB. But, not enough raisins, and there was not walnuts.

Maybe I should bake some carrot cupcakes with cream cheese frosting. with A LOT OF cream cheese frosting. :p

One thing about carrot cake - VERY lazy to grate carrots! Uwaa...

MC is coming back from Japan tomorrow night. I miss her so much!!! Heard there are a lot of souvenirs for me :) :)

Strange feelings

I kept being asked if I'm proud of my achievement. I am supposed to be proud?

Yes, maybe I should, since it's nothing to be ashamed of, and to be fair to myself, the project has been quite successful so far. The response I heard so far has been very promising and exciting. Even Carebear has supported and another member-friend of mine also got herself one today. My Aunt said her knee pain is gone and would really want to continue.

But... why do I feel like sighing? Am I acting like a snob little b*t*h if I am just "okay" with the results? Am I not committed and "connected" to my job if I'm not jumping up and down with joy towards this "achievement"?

What's wrong with me?

I suspect this is my problem - my hard work is now rewarded with "fame"; my achievements are other people's profit. What might make my day, plaster a big smile on my face and make me squeal with excitement is "actual" reward. An increment, I'm sure, will brightened me up.

On the contrary, my feeling of being very touched and grateful, is so strong. All my friends believe in what I'm doing and have supported me through offering their time, money and many of them their blood. THANK YOU SO SO MUCH!

Now some of you must be wondering now what sort of "blood "business" I'm in. Mwah hahahaha...

Working my butt out

"All I can see is your butt".

Okay, thank you very much Carebear for the information.

I didn't join BC last night, for that, Carebear's little princess asked me how come - I said "I'm a bit bored with combat"; Another member asked me (sorry, I don't even know your name and I'm so flattered that you even remember my face) why I wasn't in the class and I said "I'm... lazy". Hehe...

Of course there were many other reasons, among the other reasons was because I don't want to be doing so much upper body workout (to me, I work my upper body more in BC) whereas the part of me that needs "repair" is lower body - remember my objective? Slimmer thighs and smaller butt.

So, I went on the wave machine before BP aiming for some lower body exercise. Then while I was trying out the poses suggested by the printed instruction on the machine, Carebear arrived at the crime scene and presented me with her "observation". Hey, I WAS trying to "do" my butt, therefore you see my butt jutting out so much. That's what the instruction said, if I bend down, grip on the lower part of the machine, it's supposed to allow me to work on my butt and hamstrings. BUT, I can't feel those part being worked out at all... I wonder why. Must try again on Thursday.

So the result of the 30 minutes "waving" were 330 kcal burnt, 13 plus km and very tired thigh muscles.

Continued with pump. The announcement to start the class was "close your eyes if you see something you are not supposed to see" - and Carebear was referring to the general direction of the front of her tank top. Okaaaaay... the padding izit? Haha...

I decided to reduce my chest track weights to 5kg only, and that still gave (gives) me muscle ache. I was then able to maintain a full range for the moves in back track. The other tracks were as per how I felt during my last few classes of this new release. The instructor, whom I thought suited the title of The Grand MOT, also declared muscle ache the next morning. How not to have aches? Didn't do pump for a week and the weights carried were still SO crazy? 15kg for squat? 8.5kg for chest right? and 6kgs for biceps? *faint*

Me got left shoulder pain lately, to think of it already about a month, especially sore when I wake up if I sleep on my left side for too long. Asked Carebear for advice and it didn't sound so serious, right? Even texted to ask PT and he said he didn't think is joint injuries, maybe just pull of muscles or nerves. He gave me this instruction, and I'm still trying to imagine and figure out how to do this correctly...

"keep ur elbow close t ur body wit 90 degree angle, then rotate outwards for 15 or 20 times. But make sure elbow stick close t ur body"

Hmm... outwards is which direction? how to rotate when my elbow is still sticking close to body? Wanted to get that demonstrated just now when I was at KLCC, but I was late, and PT was well, busy PT-ing.

Birthday Cake - For Laughs

OKAY! Finally... this was the birthday cake I made for my cousin the other day.

The cake:

The problems: Forgot all about the "ears" haha... and this little lamb has got a really small head for that size of body... hehe... and the lamb wears "shoes" (forgot to draw on the swoosh hehe).

By the time we put on the candles, MC, BIL and me almost rolled off our chairs for laughing too much. The waiters and waitresses were also busy walking pass and all of them had a good laugh too.

Notice the Toblerone piece on the head? The Makeshift "ear".

Have you been entertained? Will post picture of the faces in the "book".

Not happy with what I am wearing

Have you ever arrived at work and notice you don't look good in what you chose to wear that morning? Humphhh...

I think the solution to this problem is to have slimmer thighs and smaller butt. Arghhhh...

Rested?

Was finally able to sleep longer hours, even took a nap just now, but still don't feel that recharged. Perhaps it's age, I used to be able to "recover" faster from working late, long hours when I was younger.

It has been a really busy week, long hours, lack of sleep... I was so longing for a break but now that it's over, I wish I am busy all the time because I'm worry that I might feel insecure or a bit lost when there's nothing to do at work. Such contradiction. Anyways, I don't think there's ever going to be time when I've got nothing to do in this job actually.

Two of my colleagues had left the company, their last day was last Friday. I've also heard that another colleague of mine in the branch office just tendered his resignation as well. I wonder if all of them have better offer, or just cannot take the pressure and "abuse". I know one of them resigned because he's not happy with how he's being treated. I'm also very tired, not because of work matter but because of the energy required for dealing with certain people. Fortunately, or unfortunately, I like the job a lot and I think it's a really good learning field for me.

What I need now is to have some long, good chat sessions with my dear friends. I feel that I've not been in touch with the "world" during the pass few weeks. Went to shopping with MC yesterday and today, she's leaving for Japan for a week tomorrow, humphh... will miss her again.

We were at Mid Valley Mega Mall on Saturday (after BB at LM with Hobbes), had lunch at little Penang. Delicious. I had prawn meehoon, but love the chilli that comes with the curry laksa. Went to Coffee Bean at Garden because we thought we had too much of Starbucks. Big mistake. Coffee Bean was bad, or was it only that particular outlet - the ice latte we ordered was "diluted"; the carrot cake, used to be my favorite, was hard and tasted funny. It was really unbearable till I actually rejected it and went to have it exchanged. I actually asked the staff whether the cakes were fresh. Without actually answering me, he offered for a replacement. I chose the blueberry mousse cheesecake, which I'd tried before and thought it's quite nice. Just when I thought that it couldn't go wrong... it tasted stale and, well, not fresh. Humphh... Must ask MB if the ones sold at KLCC are still of their usual high standard or not, or could it be the overall standard drop?

At night, we watched Nim's Island last night, it was okay, not that exciting, and I thought the story line was quite lame, not much substance. But I enjoyed the outing with MC and BIL. Needed to relax and take my mind off work.

Today, we went to Jusco at Klang, very huge with some unique boutiques which I thought I could put them on my regular purchase point. Bought a little jacket and a dress - which I will be wearing with a long pants. Fashion change still on-going for me, but I seriously need some extra funding. Still waiting to see if I will be getting my salary increment, which is supposed to be in April. I think. I hope.

Wanted to load the "lamb" birthday cake, but either the camera was not function well, or there was some connection error. So, can't post the pictures still. Maybe next few days.

Just testing...

Huh! Just testing to see if there's any readers for my blog, so now I know at least got 3 lah (judging by the response of my last post).

I'm so tired, still lack of sleep... but having loads of fun!

Went to NTV7 yesterday morning for the breakfast show. Not me on the show lah, accompanying my guests; Today, went to RedFM and "met" WillQ (I think can add to Facebook) and Shaz during the morning show. Also not me on air lah, the guests. Just now, went to the recording of radio ads, unexpectedly at a terrace house. Hmmm... Ooookay. Lets see how the end product sounds later. Stay tuned starting 21st of this month.

Lacking gossips because no gym this week. YES, no gym at all this week except for two occasions when I went to gym to shower.

I've got this accumulating "chocking" effect due to the growing feelings towards someone. Cannot tell him. He MUST NOT know...

Okay. Back again later...

Time out...

Me time out for one more day on blogging.

Have been really busy, waking up really early and sleeping really late (or rather very early in the morning). I'm like a walking zombie today, a walking zombie that limp a bit due to too much walking in high heels.

Till then... have fun and keep clicking in, promise I will post again soon...
