Busy week ahead

Was supposed to post the "lamb" shape cake I baked. But camera ran out of battery and I'm not able to upload the pictures.

We had a surprise do for my cousin sis, my TLA, today. We waited in one of the restaurants in the mall, and got her mother to bring everyone to that restaurant for their meal. My cake must be so hilarious, and "special" somehow, I would say almost half of the waiters in that restaurant actually came over to look at the cake. Hehe... It was a cute little cake and gave us loads of laughs.

MC arrived back from Brussels this morning at 6.30am, so since she's around, I gave her the honour of lighting the candles, and we had more laughs after the candles were lighted. It's like we were doing acupuncture on the lamb. Haha...

Will be busy next week, not sure if I will be writing much. Will post these pictures up soon as I can so everyone can have a good laugh.

Tomorrow meeting in KL, will be missing classes at TC, if I'm lucky, and can still go off early, will gym at Maxis. Or LM on my way back.

Have a good week everyone!!!

Saturday is over already...

Was so looking forward to the weekend and suddenly, it's end of Saturday already. Waiting for my chocolate cupcakes to be baked and will go out to get some ingredients soon after they are off from the oven.

Next week will be a very hectic but exciting week. Am recently working quite closely with a business counterpart, a very warm and genuine lady, a bit crazy at times, and have been talking to her for quite a lot of stuff. The other day while we were chatting, she was joking about my crush towards MG. Geezz... She said I actually deserve someone better than him, someone not so "china man" and someone taller. Hehe... Back to the height comments. Though she said that, but she still finds it extremely entertaining teasing me about it. I hope our little "jokes" do not reach MG. Oh no, no... A question though, I was trying to answer myself - someone "better" means how? Better means some mat salleh character and sophisticated looking person, but not "china man"? I know my lady-friend was just joking lah. Anyways, we shall not treat crush too seriously, just some spices to everyday boring life.

I went to pump. Did the new release 4 times, with 4 different instructors. Today was with Hobbes and this was how I felt:

- Warm up track is actually very short and among the easier ones; (to me is because, not too many overhead presses, and don't have single biceps curls)

- Chest track is the hardest! Still had to skip a few presses to avoid bar crashing down on me.

- Back track could be worse if there were more triple rows during the finale. The last set is actually quite short. But since I was tired out during chest track, I find back track quite tough.

- Triceps - very tiring, but muscles not really painful after that... hmmm...

- Shoulder track is really tough for me. I've always had weak shoulder muscles, the push up had drained part of the energy already, by the time the McRaises was done, the bar during overhead presses seemed so so heavy.

Came back and didn't have time to rest, it's always a good idea to take a nap after pump class. hee... Need to bake a lot of chocolate cupcakes, and had to bake a birthday cake for my cousin sis. Made her a butter cake with butter icing (a cake version of those mini cupcakes) in the shape of a lamb, because she was born in the year of lamb. But... the lamb looks fat, erm... the body is a bit too big and the head a bit small. And maybe the leg of the lamb shouldn't be so fluff. The cake is not so impressive, but I suppose I will post it anyways, can't just post up nice stuff in here right? Sometimes the blog should be spiced up with some horrible looking cakes. :p

Stand up for yourself

Some people are too patient already. It's good to be patient right? But when it comes to humiliation, is it a good idea for you to still be that patient? Sometimes it's not a good idea, I thought, to let others keep calling you names and making you the inferior. Shouldn't you stand up for yourself? What is so great about the other person that you kept tolerating nonsense remarks from the person? It really puzzles me. I thought you have all the bargaining power and can afford to be a tad more defiant.

Anyways, just expressing myself towards someone I came across...

MC is away in Brussels, miss her so much, no one to disturb me. Haha... I've got nothing to story but just feel like writing something.

Oh, today went to lunch with TG (Tall Gal) and KG (Kimchi Gal, but said she prefer Kiasu Gal), Ah, and Shopaholic who's now my neighbour in my office! What a small world! But I have not been bumping into him despite being just next door.

Went to pump just now, still find the shoulder track tough, but I still changed to bar with extra donut, instead of using the 2.5kg plates for the overhead press. Now shoulder feeling really tense and I can foresee a good muscle ache tomorrow. And I was reminded today that we are not supposed to do the split stand during McRaise.

I really don't have anything to say...

Big BIG sigh...

This is what I feel like doing. Need a break, better still, a Spa get away or something to that extend of self-pampering.

But, next week is going to be madness, super busy and no time to rest. Big big biiiiiiig sigh... I need more oxygen and need to be more focus. My mind is just everywhere till it was such a mess when I did step last night. Just keep getting this mental fog during class and cannot seem to link the choreo. It's like I kept forgetting something and kept having to bring my thoughts back to matters at hand. Blur...

Went to Maxis last night. It gave me a feeling of going back to "hometown". I like being there once a week, could really "catch-up" with people. Was PT's birthday yesterday, gave him the birthday message cupcake and he said it was really nice till he felt like having them framed. Hee...

Went into the changing room and it was like whoa... so crowded and busy. Took me a while to find an available locker. Met and chat with MB (when are we buddy-riding? Many of them said RPM this release is cool and worth doing). Even bumped into Carebear.

Went to class and I was in such a mess till Step Teacher told me to change to a board middle front just behind her board (she gave her board to another gal). She said I got confused by those few advance guys surrounding me who was doing turning options. Changed location, it got a bit better, but my mind was still far far away. Sigh...

Went home and only had vege soup, I'm supposed to be on strict diet this week, need to loose that 5 kgs (ok, at least 3 kgs) that I've put on during the passed one month. Pants getting tighter, how can?!

Went to bed feeling really sleepy, but my mind just wouldn't rest. I need a really good sleep, the type when you REALLY sleep.

I need a break...

Happy Birthday PT

It's my PT's birthday today! A special birthday "card" from me with added sweetness.

May you achieve what you're targeting for this year and all your dreams coming true soon. Hugs and kisses...

Geezzz... so many birthdays this month.

Tau Fu Fa

Tau Fu Fa, was the highlight of my day.

It has been really busy at work! I was a little later arriving at gym yesterday, but on time for BC. It was Carebear who's late even though she was so confident that she could make on time it when I MSN-ed her at 6.30pm. Hah!

I love the new BC release! There were quite many moves which I thought was really cool. To the best of my memory, there was this double-knee-side-kick, roundhouse kick challenge, a very groove recovery track and... Okay, I'm sure I'll be able to remember more in three weeks' time. Haha...

Plus, last night was 3 instructors on stage, besides Carebear, Peggy was also "performing" together with Master C. Hehe... it was very much a performance besides being a good workout class. I actually missed some of the moves because was too busy checking out the performance on stage. It was awesome, can we have such class forever? Hehe...

While preparing for pump, my highlight of the day waltzed into the class room. OK, I don't mean the Tau Fu Fa grew legs, it was LGM breezing in passing me a bag which has something inside that looked very much like TFF. I've heard about this famous TFF already before this. Finally got the honoured to be "present-ed" with one. It was not the traditional TFF, it's more of the pudding type - all in one complete piece/ box and not the ones that were scooped out with sugar syrup. Like I said, a low calorie, low fat, low sugar, healthy item. :p THANK YOU LGM!

BP this release, some said tough, some said not, it all depends on the weights you use. And, the tracks can't ALL be tough throughout right? The warm up track is actually very mild compared with many other tracks, to me I couldn't do overhead press and biceps with my 5kg warm up weights, so any tracks with a lot of that would be tough for me.

The parts that made me scream would normally be - the 4 sets of bottom halves at the end of squat; the last set of bottom halves during chest (no break!); back track - the continuation of 4 sets of triple rows AND deadlifts AFTER clean and press (can't feel my forearm anymore!); McRaise (is this correct spellking?) during shoulder track is no joke, especially if you are tired out in combat before pump. Having said that, the shoulder track is really cool, with cool music.

Triceps is ok for me, unless I want to torture myself by adding more weights for the overhead presses, I find myself very awkward doing the overhead presses on the bench. The music for triceps track was a bit too "noisy" for me though. Don't like the music. :(

Oh, can we also have pump class like last night more? Two more instructors on stage - little bro (a surprise to me, did you tell me? :p) and (geezzz... I wasn't paying attention, *spank spank*) Steven?. However, the "performance" was not as much as combat, guess that's about how much you can do when carrying extreme weights on the bar.

I always enjoy seeing guys instructors TT-ing with Carebear, I think there is this "basic rule" that the guys would have to carry more weights than our lady-instructor in question. Though she carries super heavy weights and is what I like to call the Grand MOT, guy-instructors would somehow have to try challenge her weights. So, if I remember correctly, the guys did well in the squat challenge, them with 15kgs and her with 12.5kgs; Chest track, not so ok right? Or was it just LB? Back track, 10kgs for the guys *clap clap*. Would you feel that guys might find shoulder tracks easier for them, when we are all using 2.5kg plates for the raises? Oh, some of them do use the 7lb dumbbell I think, which is what, about 3 odd kgs?

Great class, are we doing the same next week? Hee...

Happy birthday, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

... to SSB aka Lynnx, the very original Cupcake Queen.

These were what I've been doing during the weekend (but cannot post them until now because it's supposed to be a surprise ya) - a box of extra big size birthday theme cupcakes.

TD, well done for keeping it as a surprise, according to SSB, she didn't expect it, so she's not "perasan" hehe... BUT, do you really think I'm not gonna make you any cupcake for your short trip back from Indon, where there's shortage of extreme-icing-cupcake supply?

So if anyone saw me at TC just now and wonder which class I was at, I was at none, was there for the party only. Had a glimpse of combat class, saw some of you enjoying yourselves so much in there. A very happy looking Carebear on stage whom I would definitely not have the heart to fight with lah, looking so sweet with her smiling face hehe... :p

The surprise thingy was after RPM at 12.30pm, and I left my gym bag in the car so I missed BP at 1.00pm. LGM suggested BB but that's 2.00pm, shopping was more appealing then. Haha... But I'll be there tomorrow, double class BC and BP!

Whooppsss... sorry, side tracked already. Happy birthday SSB, may all your dreams come true! And FB friends, please get the other pictures (with faces) in Facebook. :)

Another special box of birthday special for SSB. Hope you like it!

Specially for the RPM fanatics! TD represents most of them (rated according to the number of cupcakes ate over total number of cupcakes in the box) hehe...

The birthday cupcakes at the crime scene.

"curly" colourful candles, which had almost burnt down by the time birthday gal arrived at crime scene.

And there you go SSB, extra icing in the form of flowers and leaves, with loads of chocolate stones.

Catching up...

Did pump, did step, paid RM10 for parking.

The new pump is tough, but one thing to be grateful perhaps is some of the tracks are still relatively short so you might feel that your life is being spared just when you think you are going to die. Haha...

For me, I was quite surprised that the bottom halves in squat track came so early, sent my heart rate pumping fast straight away. Needless to describe the torture moments that follows, ending with four sets of bottom halves is really no joke man...

Geezzz, I'm glad that the last set in the back track only has two sets of triple deadrows. I seriously thought it's going to end with four sets of those wide grip triple rows and was at the verge of throwing the bar!

My shoulder is in pain...

I had about 2 hour plus of free time before step, when I went down, PT was coincidentally on his way up, so it was catching up with him through exchanging like one sentence, haha... bumped into him again after my step class... It's not easy to bump into people you know, it has to be precise timing.

So, again talking about precise timing, I bumped into Step Teacher at San Francisco, where I went for a quick bite, but she went off shortly since the queue was a bit too long.

It's so great that SSB had time to have tea (lunch for her) with me before she went off. So, besides catching up with her on Indon stories, which consist mad traffics and culture shocks, Malaysian politics, I also told SSB about a very lasting bad first impression towards a member who is now an instructor. First impression is really very important, no matter how nice this guy is now, I'm never going to join his class (unless it is, like one of the passed incidents, "accidentally" joined because he was TT-ing with Hobbes).

By the way, SSB reminded me that it's her birthday this Saturday. Like that also can ar!!?? Haha... EVERYONE, IT'S SSB'S BIRTHDAY THIS SATURDAY, DON'T FORGET. There, let me help you remind everyone.

Anyways, step class was great! I've got a lot of catching up to do too on my step moves, but managed to follow through the class. But the studio at Maxis is seriously stuffy, lack of clean air to breathe and the room made me felt very cluster phobia, maybe since no more mirror (glass window) at front.

Glad that I did two classes but I need to catch up with my workout because I'm seriously growing fat. I need to put myself on a week of sandwich lunch, it always work for me. But, I also do not want to miss lunching out as I do have hidden agenda...

HOW???

Okay... The other day I got this right, from SSB...

Hey, i'm coming back this Weds. I also want cupcakes.... The ones with extra rock chocs . HA HA.
Also am launching this Thurs at Maxis la. come come come.:D
March 17, 2008 1:35 PM

Good, because I do want to do BP on Thursday (tomorrow), moreover, have not seen SSB for a long time lah (Some more now posted permanently in Indon). But, sorry dear, not able to deliver you any cupcakes though. Don't have enough time. You are not leaving yet right?

And after the class, I plan to go for tea with MC, BIL and one of their friends who is back from UK for a short break.

Then just now, I got this sms from Step Teacher, that says:

"Hi. Just want to let you know I'm teaching hi lo 3.15 and step 4.30 at maxis tmr. Come k."

Ahhhh!!! Step! Yes yes... but, geezzz... 4.30pm. BP is 12.45pm to 1.45pm. I'm torn between BP and Step. OR shall I do both? Points to consider doing 2 classes with such a big time gap at KLCC (1) Parking fee for approximate 6 hours (2) What to do in between that time. Plus I need to rearrange plans with MC. Sorry lah! I am "greedy" I know.

HELP!!!

At the moment, I'm planning to do both classes, pay the extremely expensive parking fee, then go dinner with MC and BIL at Mid Valley Mega Mall.

Humphhh...

I should have joined Carebear's BP tonight...

(btw tonight's post a bit long cuz trying to cramp 2 days' event into one. So, if you want, you can give up reading this post... about now.)

Today's traffic was fantastically smooth, 20 minutes and I was in KLCC from TTDI. I was so early even though I stayed slightly later at work. As I said, I could have joined BP since I was in time. Though I didn't really check the clock, but I knew the class had not start yet then because I bumped into a mad-woman-looking instructor. Haha... She did look harassed with streaks of hair falling onto her face. :p

Okay, I could have joined, and I think I should have joined BP. At 8.45pm, 15 minutes before the supposed end of Step class, I was already sending sms to Step Teacher.

"R u ok? Take care. I hope you just couldn't make it to the class, n not tat u r sakit or something right."

Then after shower, my sms read:

"I'm ok. Gotta attend a family emergency. Were there a lot of ppl? How was it?"

Well... As I had summarized for teacher who couldn't make it to the class tonight, the class was okay, but I was not used to the replacement instructor's style. He taught well, very clear, he could speak quite loud (mind you, there was no mic for mini studio at MMX, so instructors need to shout on top of the music) and the choreo was some how interesting, but I just couldn't summon enough enthusiasm towards the class. I find the choreo was rather short, so though it was interesting, I got a bit bored after some half an hour repetition and was planning to leave the class then.

But, I got rather "entertained" by a member who was trying hard not to row his eyes, perhaps, finding the choreo a bit funny. We had some good laugh because he was trying to exaggerate the moves so much that it's really hilarious. He asked if I could smile back at him when he smile (laugh) so that it would look like he was smiling with me and not smiling at the instructor. (or did he meant laugh at?). So jahat!

Anyways, I finally left 15 minutes before class ended, and thanks to that entertaining member for returning my board. Must get his name the next time. Before I left the studio, I mouthed "thank you" to the instructor, please forgive me for rudely leaving the class.

It's just my bad habit, I often find myself drifting off and not being "connected" to the class if I'm not familiar with the instructor. So far I could only manage doing BP with instructors I don't know. But nevertheless, pick-and-choose instructors is still one of my bad habits.

So if I had known, I could have joined BP and have another round of satisfying torture.

I'd really enjoyed BP last night, my strength is back! And though the class was tough (YES, your class was tough!) I could get through the class with loads of enduring pains but managed the moves; When I didn't have the strength, it was just plain suffering plus cannot manage the moves properly besides feeling sick.

Thank you for not doing "get your hands off my girl", BUT, that particular track was actually equally tough, just minus the irritating song. Also, I got loads of space in BP, very comfortable and no one irritated me with clashing boards or bar with me. Talking about bar, it was really hilarious when the song sung "I'm not dead... just floating" (or something like that) during chest track and Carebear said "just like the bar". Geezzz... was laughing so hard and was lucky that I could still hold onto my bar and not letting it crash on me. Haha...

On the contrast, I was really irritated by the "arrangement" in BC. Some people were just very difficult to "work with". Whenever I had nicely "place" myself at the best possible spot between the people around me, some other person must do last minute change of the person's standing position (most of the time directly in front of me). That would result in either me hitting, punching or kicking that person, OR me just giving up most of the kicks, punch, shuffles... Well, since there were not report of any major accidents in class, you know I chose the second option right. Humphhh...

On the happy note, PiC was there and it was particularly cheerful doing the "performance" during the YMCA track with her (I always got my "C" on the wrong direction!). So cute. The combat master was also extremely entertaining and sporting by demonstrating the body-jam-looking moves in one of the tracks, what track was it again?

Heard that the master had lost his iPod, got stolen at Axis for the third time. Geezz... that's bad. But at the end of the class, the victim of the theft forgot to bring his new iPod with him upon leaving the studio. Owner lost iPod, or iPod lost owner? Humphh...

PiC is turning...

Happy birthday to my PiC at gym. Don't think you are a regular reader of my blog, but it's a practice for bloggers to just dump whatever message, stories, information, onto here.

I don't remember what age you will be turning to today... But whatever age it is, stay cool and collected, serene and try to always maintain the "zen" and don't do this again.

Have a great one dear, may all your dreams come true and all my other wishes as per the sms. :p

In pain?

No TD, I did not go to the movie with handphone guy!!

Met my Cupcake Queen at LM last night for the delivery of cupcakes. I've asked for a 8.30/9.00pm meeting time because I was going to watch a 9.30pm movie. So, just in case you take this news like how TD did, the answer is as above first line. I watched 10,000BC with MC and BIL. Was not the most fantastic movie, but I thought it was good at least the story line was clear and all parts of the story were explained and linked properly. The effects were quite good, I love the sabertooth! He's soooo cool, and could I say "cute"? Heee...

On our way to the cinema, MC and BIL were already reporting on their muscle ache - the result of their first BP class, earlier the day. We had a great time together at Hobbes' BP. I love working out at LM lately, near to house, not too crowded on Saturday afternoons, but considerably interesting to be at, PT will be there to remind me to workout hard and lately with the company of MC and BIL, it's just perfect.

Though my strength was considered quite okay, after diligently joining two to three BP a week, I was still screaming in agony. Even MC couldn't resist the "joy" of screaming in pain. The squat track had got too many bottom halves; The chest track was overloaded with super-slows; Back track had so many seven-rows till I lost count; Triceps push-up to start and overhead-press to end, the triceps track was no joke!

Needless to say, I did badly in my most feared biceps track, we were going to get dirty then as Hobbes said; Even the lunges which I normally could bear, nearly killed me with that extra hold-hold-hold... at the bottom halve. Don't remember the track being like that originally! Humph... I hope we are not doing "get your hands off my girl" tomorrow!!!

Yiaksss... Why do I have a feeling that tomorrow's BP, by the renowned Master of Torture, is going to kill me? Shall I skip BC tomorrow so that I can conserve some energy for BP? Hmmm...

More presents!!!

Thanks TD :)

The pens are cool!!

My Christmas Present!!!

My darlings. Thank you for the present. Feels great and jolly to get a "Christmas" present regardless when I receive it.

When we look back, we often find that a lot of things have changed. People changed... But I'll always be there if you need to be indulged in something "sweet". :)

Farewell with a friendship garden

Her majesty Cupcake Queen wanted to sweetened up her farewell. Since she (and maybe the people sharing these) is an icing fanatic, I suggested to make the "garden" theme. With the flowers and leaves, the sugar effect will be quite high. Haha...

I told The Queen that everything (except for the paper cup) on the cupcake can be eaten. So yeah, including these silver balls on the flowers.

And the stones/ rocks by the side. I just love these small little chocolates, never fail to amuse my cupcake fans.

And I'm sure you will like those cute little leaves too right? They are my favorite.

Have a great time with the cuppies! :)

Drama

The content of my story tonight will sound like those episodes which only happen in dramas. The precise timing when it happened was also very drama.

I was leaving the office and was just stepping out from the lift onto ground floor when my handphone rang, showing "private number". Geezzz... could be anyone, I really hesitated and was thinking aloud.

"Private number?" when I mumbled that to myself, I thought my boss shot me an inquiring look.

Okay, answered and regretted. It was handphone guy! So "drama" begun, like this:

ttb: oh... hi. (trying hard not to be distracted by my boss)
handphone guy: hei, where are you ah?
ttb: at the office! (trying hard not to sound lame)

(My boss, who came down with me and still walking just beside me, did not even bother to hide his amazed look, obviously heard what I said)

h.g: uh? so late ah? Thought you finish work at 5.30pm?
ttb: Oh, arr... I've got a lot of work to do today...

(voice trailing out because when I exchanged glance with my boss upon saying that, he was already chuckling. He was definitely very amused and pleased having to be there at such "good" timing)

h.g: Oh... I'm at TC having my hair cut...
ttb: yeah...
h.g: work late also must have dinner right?
ttb: DINNER!!!???

(whoopss... shouldn't have repeated that word.)

ttb: I'll eat when I got home lo...

(I was shaking my head madly. But my boss was obviously quite entertained by my "tactful" way of declining the invitation).

I missed my lift to the carpark, my boss was pointing to the vacant lift BUT I cannot get into the lift now! How can me supposedly working in the office suddenly loosing reception because I was going into the lift. So we were both at the lift landing till the end of my tele-conversation, which happened to end then.

h.g: oklah then, I'll................. (I didn't even hear what he said, boss was so distracting).
ttb: ok, byeeeee...

To end my drama, my boss asked: "why don't you want to go, what's wrong with him?"

Geeezzz... you have NO idea.

Monday pump, MONDAY PUMP!!!

Geezzz... early morning got asked where's the Monday pump blog. I'm blogging about it now, NOW! It's still "today" ya! Hehe...

Before I start story telling, I must say, this recent Monday pump was... Not tough.

Will anyone kill me if the next class gets super tough? But no worries, it's new release coming up, I have been told it's 3 times, or even 10 times harder than the toughest tracks used in our BP classes these few weeks. So, we will die in BP nevertheless.

I skipped BC on Monday, too much work to do and I was not in the mood to rush for classes. It was madness at work so I need to maintain my "zen" by not committing to hectic gym schedule. Perhaps that's the reason why I found BP that night not as tough - I've got more energy since I did not join BC. Besides, if I skipped BC, I could catch up with my beloved BP teacher before the class (do I sound like arse-kissing here? Hehe...). I nearly wore what Carebear was wearing the other night. But the difference would be mine has no holes in it lah. Haha... And to whoever that missed teacher's announcement during the start of the class, the reason for the very out of norm 3-quarter instead of sexy shorts was to cover the "patches". Hey, hope you are feeling better now.

I love warm up tracks that are without biceps. Hee... I was enjoying myself with the strength I had that night and feeling very jolly, BUT someone must irritate me and spoil my mood. Humph...

The class started with an unoccupied board on my left. Later an auntie (rude or not if I use this description?) came in. It's quite a norm for step boards to do the "bumper to bumper" in such popular class. Fine. Having said that, we members are normally smart (and considerate) enough to adjust our board/ ourselves. But this auntie in question, not only had her board in one straight line with mine (hey, she came late so I should have priority right?!), she had her legs at the same side as me during chest track, EVEN THOUGH there were plenty of space on the other side of her board. Plus, she wasn't facing the instructor. It didn't make any sense to me. As a result, I was really awkward when lying down and getting up from the board, to avoid hitting her with my bar (not that heavy, only 10kgs in total) or stepping on her.

So, to avoid "accident" (I need some momentum to be able to get up from the board right!), during the start of the tricep track, I told her, as courteous as I could, to kindly face the other side since there were really plenty of space. The music must have been too loud and she was not good in reading sign language. Hence, she merely move her board further from mine for like one inch, and continued doing what she was doing. I was in such a bad mood then, maybe that was where I got my energy from.

I'm now suffering from memory lost, I cannot recollect what we did in the class already. But I vaguely remember bicep track being one of the easier tracks, I did not go through the I-am-going-crazy-and-want-to-scream stage. So it couldn't have been so tough. Can we do these kind of tracks more? Haha...

So, that was Monday. I did another BP today and hoping to join Hobbes' on Saturday. So called in preparation for the VERY tough new release.

Delivered

Finally met up with my newly crowned Cupcake Queen. Really nice meeting you TD! Enjoy the "mental connection" with the babies tonight dear, before you give them away. And thanks for the cool present!

Earlier this afternoon I got a phone call, the caller straight away shot me series of friendly hellos, and how are yous... WITHOUT telling me who he was.

I was really not in the mood so I told him "Sorry, I'm on the other line" (which was true by the way), "can I call you back?"

So, fine you know, it's up to you whether you think it's "time" yet to tell me who you were, I was hanging up regardless. Later I got a text from him telling me who he was - it was "private number" to start with and I don't have his number in my phone book.

That was apparently the guy whom I bought my previous phones from near my former work place. And strangely, the very first few questions he asked included "do you already have a boyfriend".

Geezzz... guys! I mean, some of the guys... PLEASE spare me! Please...

To that, my answer was (well, actually my answer was a question) "have you changed your business to match-making instead?". I.AM.NOT.ANSWERING.THAT.QUESTION. That kind of question coming from a not so close friend, is VERY rude. I'm sorry too if I sounded rude here.

And please, please forget to invite me to the opening of your friend's restaurant at TC new week. I think next week is a very busy week for me.

Oh, I missed my favorite step class yesterday. Bumped into an old friend at gym while sending the cupcakes just now and he could really understand my addiction towards step. Anyways, was at LM yesterday to do FI's BS. And my answer to your (FI) "Ehhh???" is "I was on leave yesterday". Therefore able to make it to that class. Not done that class for aaaages. Saw many familiar faces. The recovery track was tough lah, it was tougher because FI had "improvised" it. Humph! Too bad I won't be able to join FI's class often.

I'm missing an entry about my Monday BP with Carebear... tomorrow. I need to go remedy my blood lost pains now.

Attractions

Was reading the book and one part really made me ponder...

It says this guy has no wealth, no status, not sociable and completely off-limits to the rich girls. But that made him most desirable; He is really hard to be seduced and gave the girls some really hard time. But that made him a challenge and more sought after among the girls.

Does this means that we are most of the time attracted to hard to achieve targets? I like challenges in live, in work, maybe in romance, but I totally disagree that one should play hard to get.

Anyways, I think naturally, we have the perception that whatever we don't have, are always the best.

The other day MG appeared, unexpectedly, unshaven with rolled up work shirt, a bit of a post-war, messy, stressed-out look, but quite appealing.

Loving RPM

TD ordered these...

And am really exicited for them to be featured again. Hope you hardcore RPM fans won't miss this ;)

Blueberry Chocolate Chips Muffin

I made these because of 2 reasons:

1) I was making TD's order and there were a bit of extra cake mixture. So I don't want to waste them;

2) I had some blueberries out from the can for a week, need to use them before they turn bad.

(I still have some fresh cream in the fridge which I urgently need to use!)

Since this is a random baking and no reference to any recipe, I wanted to know if I've put in enough blueberries and chocolate chips. So I cut one up to "inspect".

I think they could do with more blueberries. MC said it was okay.

TMTH

I just got a missed call which luckily I replied to. Cupcake Queen Jr, who shall be crowned The Queen proper, wanted to order some mini cupcakes. I was saying a few days ago that looks like I'm taking a break from baking this weekend, but like I'd suspected... Baking it is! (waiting for the butter to soften) And we shall have 2 Queens!

I was earlier in a BB class with MC, BIL as usual, did his own cardio and weights, we shall do BP together next week k? MC observed that the class this morning was much more filled up than last 2 weeks when we came - because Hobbes is back - now you know what I mean by the instructors are directly related to the attendance. MC was not convinced to join BP with me next Saturday until I told her Hobbes is going to teach that class in question. See, I'm not the only one who select classes according to instructors. Haha...

The class was very challenging, so very Hobbes. One warrior post can send your legs to agony pain when challenged by Hobbes. The best part of the class for me (besides the relaxation at the end) was the split! I couldn't do the split, but have been wanting to be able to. Though my thighs were so painful, are still very painful now, I'm sure I'm one step closer to a full split!

Oh, last night was a gathering with ex-colleagues. So much laughter, miss all of them and surely missed all those stories. And I miss you at Gym Shen. Good to know that everyone is doing so well and all of you (except for Farid who doesn't need to) are coping very well with The Devil Who Doesn't Wear Prada. That's advance level, way to go gals!

There were so much to talk about but time flies, and the mummies (I mean plural of mother) had to go back early. I was still talking when I head to the car park with Farid, and during that short journey we talked about various topics, one of which of course about guys (girls' talk usually involve talking about guys). Generally, I have barb wires and warning sign around me especially when guys approach. But I will usually be okay if the intend is casual and not TMTH - too much to handle. (new phrase courtesy of Farid). ;)

Walnut Praline

It's really easy...

Heat up about 50gm of caster sugar with 2 tablespoon of water.

The book didn't say whether to stir it or not, it just said till it turn nutty brown colour. But I did stir a bit after a while because I thought there were not much reaction. Haha...

Then add in the walnuts and turn them out on to the baking sheet.

If you are distracted (like me, burnt my finger because I accidently held the metal part of the sauce pan, and had to attend to my pain first) and the sugar glazing got hard and stuck dead to the pan, just heat it slightly and it should come off easily.

When cool, break or cut them into the size you want. Very sweet, but nice.

Helping hands

Last night was BP for me since I've suffered from strength lost due to low frequency of BP classes. Besides, I sometimes get bored with BC when I attended too much of it, but hey, new release coming up, sure it will be so much fun again for BC.

I was really early for BP given that the class only started at 7.50pm. Greeted me when I arrived at gym was little Bro!!! Hey, you look so thin, you sure you are eating well, like you had claimed? But I like your new hairstyle, looks great!

Later before class started, LB had showered and was all clean and cuddly, a big big hug from big sis. The class was full last night, and I had immediately spotted the space I wanted to stand, and strode purposefully over there with my board within 2 seconds. But, I suddenly realized that the board was missing one "leg"! Humph... While I was having a hard time trying to fix that with one hand (because I was holding my bottle and towel in the other one), I got a helping hand! Thanks darling!

Little Bro then gone through some "engineering" work with the board using the bar (yes the bar for the weight plates) and voila, I had my board. Phew... Meanwhile, my ideal spot has been taken. Left with one free space just in front of the instructor. Geezzz... rather uneasy since I don't know that instructor and most uncomfortable because I could see from the mirror in front that I was really blocking a few people's views.

So, throughout the class, I was trying to adjust my position to stand slightly offset from the instructor (hey, I AM tall okay, 5 feet 7 - plus another 1 inch from my Nike Shox - is quite an effective height to block just almost everyone, moreover, there is no stage in the studio). Can you imagine if it was a BC class conducted by the master? :p

Not helping the situation was this guy to my left who kept adjusting his board backwards, hey, there was LOADS of space in front of him! I couldn't have gone to the front because I will be kissing the instructor if I do so, (if it was Carebear or LB I don't mind lah) moreover, my position was just nice to fit the space between the 2 boards to my left. But this guy on my right was obviously short sighted, when come chest track, his board was just beside mine. So to get his leg space, he started moving away my reserved plates. I didn't even bother to give him any acknowledgement of approval.

FINE! I go backwards a bit okay?! But, geezzzz... big big roll eye, he kept adjusting back too! Feel like telling him (or perhaps even moving his board for him) to go front! There was another guy in front, far in front of him, so what's wrong with going further to the front?! So "shy" is it to be at front?

Alright, perhaps I was a bit overreacting. Humphh... I should have squeezed myself to the far back row and pretend I didn't see any protesting glance. Oh, I'm sure the members there are friendly enough to let me squeeze in. Next time. But having said that, I was able to check myself out in the mirror and I thought last night, gosshh... My posture during squat track was really bad. I didn't know I was hunching that much. No wonder Carebear kept telling me about that. Leave alone squat track, I think I walk and sit like that most of the time. I must work hard to get rid of this bad habit!

Blessed with Present

I'm not posting the 3 tier cake I made last night. Not very happy with it. The bottom part brownies tasted quite ok, but I'm not really a chocolate cake person, plus was a bit full just now. Still prefer cheesecake. :) Next one no matter what, the office birthday celebration cake will be a cheesecake! It was my own idea and no one requested for the cakes, but boss told me to claim back the money, oh, how nice!

Anyways, the present! I love it, it made my phone look so cute and cheerful. By the way, that's my new phone, Nokia 6500 slide, and at the background is the pen drive present MC got me.

Thanks Carebear!!!

Making a cake when I'm so sleepy

A preview of what I made. I'm not very happy with this cake, so much for a "naked" look. Sigh... but it's 12.30am and I'm freaking sleepy, not to mention being extremely tired due to all those episodes last 2 days, so cannot be baking another cake!

But this is for my big boss... horror!

By the way, this is the best view of the cake, so don't expect any surprises.
I hope the taste is ok though, I know the cherries taste good, very plump after soaking in Brandy for 3 nights.

Unlucky of Blessed?

Major screw-up at work yesterday. Really serious one and though we say we always learn from mistakes, but this is an expensive lesson. It happens when you take things for granted and depend on others. Always do the final check yourself, take ownership and make it your full responsibility. That, I trust should minimize error in my job. Sighsss... what to do, it had happened. Still waiting for some "lecture" and "shouting" from the big one up there. Anticipation of something unpleasant is not a very good way to pass-time, trust me.

I need something to put up on my desk to say "DON'T TAKE THINGS FOR GRANTED" or some sort of reminder like that. Anyone want giving me one? hehe... :p

But, while such "misfortune" had happened to me, I had realize that I am really blessed with caring family and friends. MC gave me a pen-drive present last night (THANKS!!!); on Monday night, I got a present from Carebear (I love it! Will post that soon, you must take a look of that cute stuff); Bumped into people I've not seen for a long time last night, and it gave me warmth to see their smiling faces. On top of that, I've been asking friends to help out with participating an event which involves blood (I know something so precious to everyone), and so blessed, many of you actually said yes! Thanks! Especially my step teacher, FI and Hobbes. Oh, PT as well. Also GXC in SPK too, though you don't know me well, but trust me enough. My ex-colleagues are really supportive too! Thanks guys... I feel stronger now. I'm sure I'll get through these small hiccups. In one piece.

Meanwhile, in another story, I realize that MG is really a very patient person. But must remind myself - no stepping into danger zone.

SSB aka Cupcake Queen

Dear SSB aka Cupcake Queen,

It's so sudden!!! If I hadn't log onto Facebook, I wouldn't know that you are leaving. Tomorrow!

I think I always take for granted that my friends will always be around with me. I feel that I've not kept in touch much, not attended your class enough, not hang out often and had not seize that moment we last met and cherish it as the very last time we meet before you leave.

Still remember those days when we were both "married" to FF Maxis. Through you, I was always the one who was able to stay up-to-date with special events, theme classes and promotions. Not to mention being able to make you my walking-timetable for the Group X classes and would always be able to know if my favorite instructors were teaching. Thanks for all the privileges!

Don't even remember since when, I had the honour to have you as a fan of my cupcakes, not to mention having the honour to have you featuring my cupcakes in your classes. It was loads of fun making those special message cupcakes for you. Very inspiring as well.

Although really sad to know that you are leaving, but hey, congrats! It sounds like a good career advancement and I know you will hit top score on whatever you do.

Take care, stay spicy and keep blogging!

TTB

ps. Now, who's gonna be my Cupcake Queen now?

Getting fat already...

I've only been to 3 gym classes this week - 1 step, 1 BC and 1 BB. VERY bad. I can feel my waistline expanding and some excess bulging out from my jeans. BP would definitely have to be scheduled in. At one point I was doing 3 BP/ week consistently and even Hobbes commented that I looked slimmer (not that slim but slimmer lah). So I guess for me it has to be mainly BP and some cardio.

I went to BB today at LM because I want to company MC on Saturday at gym. She is of the opinion that she's not ready for the hardcore classes as yet, plus her tooth ache/ gum problem is not helping her case. So BB it is. (See, so I missed my usual Saturday BP. Anyways, it's instructor training and Hobbes was not teaching)

It's my bad habit of not motivated to join classes which instructors are not known to me. Today, however, I joined a class with this instructor for the first time, and I like her! I personally thinks she's very good, clear instructions no mistakes. Pleasant and confident. Above all, she was able to do all the post and I like the way she speaks - no funny accent, well spoken, not so high pitch and very clear.

BB to me is no sweat, literally. Or rather not much sweat, the sun salutation part could still be very "warming". I still prefer step class, or BP which gives me better result. But I like MC's company and I like the idea of us spending more time together. So hopefully she's able to "level up" and we could perhaps select a few more gym classes to join together. And, we are "reinstating" our Sunday squash session.

I realize when we grow up/ grow older our expectations and requirements change. Selection criteria for one (towards our "type" of guys) changes very significantly. I guess the very typical criteria we set last time (when we were young) will be, tall, good looking, well to do, 5 years older then us, has own house/ car, no tattoo, no ear piercing etc etc...

Like many of you said, and I too feel, criterion are not something we can and should hang onto so much. Sometimes, there is perhaps no such thing as the "type" of guy we like. When it comes to choosing (if we get to choose) a lifetime partner (or any partner) the more important concern is perhaps whether we "click".

By the way, this is not the best way to get to talk to a gal at the gym, so guys, please DON'T do this...

Outside studio waiting for class to commence.

Guy: Are you ___ing this class?
TTB: (heard "joining" this class) yeah...
Guy: blah blah blah
TTB: (Smile)
(meanwhile, got an elbow from MC)
Guy: Are you the instructor for this class?
TTB: (controlled very much not to drop her jaw) No........ She (indicating gal in studio, on stage) is the instructor.

If I ever come across an "instructor" who looks like me, my comment will be - why so flabby?

Lighting McQueen Birthday Cake

There was a request from my best gal friend earlier the week for her younger son turning 2 year old. Not a figure 2 cake, but a chocolate cake with the cartoon character from Cars. The only name which popped into my mind was McQueen. And true enough.

At first I was planning to piped the figure. Had the cartoon character images searched and so on. Only later I realize that I couldn't actually piped out McQueen with my butter icing because the red colour will never turn out since I'm mixing red colour with white, it's going to be light pink and very dark pink. But not red.

So, changed of plans. Told MC if I could get Lighting McQueen toy car, then my job will be easier. I could just decorate the cake and make it look like a race course, then place the toy car on. Done!

So we were on search of McQueen at the departmental store. Couldn't find McQueen at first and we were almost going to get Martey (am I spelling this correctly?). Finally, MC found a Lego set and so this birthday cake...

We could do with a bigger cake

McQueen on the cake

Some rocks on the "road side"

The set comes with all these parts

You need these type of cake box if you are making "tall" cake like this.
