If only I can say it ALL

I really had to admit that Carebear's pump classes are (usually - with very very high chance) tougher. Oh, and also Hobbes', his pump classes are also normally aim to kill! I went to one today, and it's only ok-ish. Maybe no connection to the people and everything around me, or is it the instructor? I found myself practically day dreaming during a big chunk of the time in that class. And I suppose also, how tough the pump class is up to how tough we ourselves want to make it.

I got a bit of discomfort at my knee lately, is it because of the extra donut I've added to my squat? Or too much of floating on the cardio wave machine? OR, I'm getting old. OH NO!!!

I always caught myself continuing mentally what I wanted to say. Most of the time, I wish I can really say it loud, and tell them all.

Him: "what is the best way to get to digital mall?"
TTB: "section xx" (can I come too?)
Him: "Thought so"
TTB: "digital mall doesn't sound like a good place for dating" (WHO are you going with??)
Him: "Noooo... I'm not going for a date, I'm going there alone"
TTB: "Oh..." (That sounds great :)) "Haha..."
Him: "Maybe I can still be dating at the digital mall, IF I'm dating a geek"
TTB: "If you are buying present, I wouldn't mind dating you there!" (now... seriously, can I come too?) "Hahaaa"

Not ambitious, 300kcal only

Missed gym last night, and since I had been "reminded" to keep a balance of my life, and not to forget my darling "Jim", I headed towards TC after work - on my supposed "off-day" from gym. But, since I was really sleepy, and needed to allocate some time to shop for THE bananas, I opted for 30 minute cardio wave AND I only aimed for 300kcal. The result, 330 kcal, 14km, maximum heart rate 175.

With this, I'm sure I've burnt off my afternoon teh tarik.

I've got a few new colleagues lately. Today, this one colleague of mine asked if I'm still single. After me answering, she said "yeah, it's not easy because you are so tall"

Hmm...

I am SUPPOSE to get a boyfriend who is taller than me is it?

I used to set height as one of the main criteria, until lately some of my dear friends and my own sis, talked me out of that. The reason for the height thingy was because, to me, a guy who is taller than me would be able to give me the sense of security, the feel of comfort. But if someone who is shorter than me can manage to make me feel that way, I then don't see a problem. (This was what we agreed on during our last "discussion" right, gals?)

So, I suppose now, it's whether a guy who is shorter than me will feel at ease with me or not. "Guys wouldn't want girlfriends to be taller than them normally" - is my colleague's reply.

I would like to believe that if this guy is confident enough, if he is comfortable with his own height, and most of all, if he likes me enough - I don't think height could discourage him.

I'd like to believe so.

Really Can't Tell

Sacrificed gym and sleeping time tonight to complete work. Exactly what I meant when I said the other day, that I couldn't really draw a line between work and personal life most of the time. Really can't tell whether I am at work or off at 1am in the morning, say.

Charity OR sales transaction??

First of all, sorry LGM because you had to wait for me again, I expect you to be joining pump since you asked if I was joining pump. And, thanks for the "present" - I love presents :).

There was a slight delay going into the gym because firstly there was a office "crisis"; Then it was my detour to the pet shop to get stuff for my little baby; AND a complete waste of time with this charity booth at the connecting bridge between TC and IKANO...

I must have passed by this booth for a hundred times, so today when I was passing by for my hundredth-and-one time, I decided to hear them out and perhaps spare some money to the needy. I was also in the mood.

The person: Blah blah blah... planning to build a new building to house the orphans, and there will be learning centre blah blah... in blah blah...

(Can't even remember what she said... so,)

TTB: Can you perhaps give me something to read, or a source for me to check this out first? My company also has a charity fund, perhaps I can look into recommending for an amount to be donated?

TP: Oh, you mean you want to perhaps send a cheque at a bigger sum for a "one off" donation?

(So strange, why use "one-off" to describe donation? But,)

TTB: Yeah, or perhaps we can visit the shelters you are currently supporting...

(I thought maybe I can plan for my next family visit to the orphanage...)

TP: But we are only "promoting" this plan here, it's a monthly contribution which you can stop anytime you want...

I really lost her there... retrace, I thought we were talking about donations to the orphans or something? Apparently it's a scheme or some sort where you authorise them for schedule deduction from your credit card.

TTB: Okay, perhaps let me check this out before I make any donations, I'm sorry to be rude but there are many activities going on now a days in the name of donations.

(What? I am being too "cynical" or what? Anyways,)

TP: You might not get as much information as I can provide you over here, maybe let me go through with you the information I have... This plan is by XXX (a renowned insurance company) and we (they) are collecting funds for blahblahblah...

(Seriously, I got really impatient with her, couldn't really hear what she said, besides, hey, I don't have ALL night you know?!)

TTB: okay, why don't you just give me the reading materials? And like I said, perhaps we send cheque.

Nope! She didn't have any to give me...

Okay... she might not have used the word "promoting" but to me it has been perceived as a sales promotion or some sort. Are we not talking about donations here? Shouldn't one be flexible when you are doing something out of passion? Shouldn't one accept whatever the donor had to, or can afford to offer?

To end my conversation with her, I said "Madam. You see, why I was hoping to get more information from you was because perhaps we can visit the shelters ourselves. Most of the time, we feel different when we really reach out to the children instead of just dropping a few notes into the funds."

She begun to say something like "but you are also reaching out by..."

Whatever, I really lost interest all together and got upset with this woman.

Sigh... I THOUGHT I was being kind to stop by, but I would have better off just said "no thank you" and walked off as usual. Perhaps people like me with limited cash to spare for donation is not "qualified" to participate in these kind of charity funds/ scheme. Perhaps people like me who is hoping for some options towards the amount and ways of donating is not "welcomed" to inquire at such booth. Perhaps people like me is having the wrong idea of what "reaching out" and charity means.

Classic Mini Cupcakes

9 dozens of these were baked for my orphanage visit today.
We were told that there are about 80 plus kids (age 2 to about 26) living in the 2 storey terrace house. Though the huge number, we can see that the kids were taken care of. The place, together with a few more other centres (old folks, community centre, shelter for disable children) were manage by a pastor. We were also being informed that about 25 kids are staying with the pastor at his house. You really need a big heart to be so devoted. And although I'm pretty sure they get quite a lot of support from the public, but you will never have enough when you have more than a hundred kids to support. We didn't contribute that much since we don't really have that much budget, but though our contributions were small, the caretakers had all shown so much gratitude and appreciation.

My weekend bake.

And this is for MC so that she can make her workstation a popular spot for "visitors".

What blog title?

I don't know what I plan to write tonight, hence do not know what blog title to put.

Felt really tired last few days and even mum commented that it seemed like I've been going to sleep earlier. I was physically tired actually.

Lately, I felt that I've not been able to draw a clear line between work and personal "life" anymore. It seemed like I've been forever working - after working hour, night time, weekend, public holiday. I don't mean actually going to the office, but doing office stuff. I bet many of us live this kind of life. Is it because of deadlines, or because we are all workaholic? Someone told me recently that it's okay to be a workaholic as long as we enjoy it. Hmm... I have different feelings when I'm in different mood.

This blog is going to be so random...

I used to get sms that cheer me up instantly; used to send sms for no real reason but just for random updates on some unimportant stuff; used to made my heart leap and skip a beat when getting those sms-es. But lately, there seem to be lacking sms of such, till today I realize that this particular sms gave me a strange tinge of excitement. I do miss those chummy sms-es.

I also have this uneasy feel that I'm behind time with some tasks, but I'm feeling a bit like what MC said, drowning but can't swim. I hope my situation doesn't become a messy game of Tetris.

Just made a hundred of mini cupcakes for our orphanage visit tomorrow. I hope the cupcakes bring some joy to the kids. How lucky we are to be sheltered where we really belong to, surrounded by love and care.

Earlier today, MC and I joined Hobbes' pump, it was great, and as MC agreed, this was much much better than the one we attended on Thursday. MC was spotted with some slight weight increment, well done! We felt like we were dead after the class, but hey, we love the torture and felt great with a big sense of achievement!

I think I need sleep. And a dosage from my romance story book.
