I always make mental notes to blog about this, but so far didn't mention yet - I really find this parking attendant at MML annoying. Every time I leave the car park, she will make me hold up the parking ticket to her for aaaaaaages before she finally "notice" me (AND my BIG car) stopping by the side of her booth. And then she will take her own sweet time to verify the FF stamp before she let me out. Humphhh... Okay, cool. Know what? I notice tonight that she is actually quite an elderly woman, still had to work and perhaps having poor eye sight. So, I should really be nice.
I realize that I'm not the only few who are choosy about instructors. Today's BP was more filled up than most of the weeks with a more "interesting" crowd. Some really "terror" members were in the house. Most members carried super heavy weights - for squat one of the ladies was doing 17.5kg and one guy doing 22.5kg - with the tiny lady instructor doing 15kgs. No wonder instructor said no more 10kg plates available for her. I felt really weak carrying 10kgs for my squat weights!
So, due to the fantastic turn up for the class of this replacement instructor, the best spot I could get were right at the back, in the middle. Nothing to complain about, I like being at the back, just that I was flanked by this newbie - nothing wrong with him, just worried that he might have bad "space management" - and the other side by this guy who carries 7.5kg for warm up - also nothing wrong with heavy warm up weights, just thought he was wearing a bit of this show-off look on his face. But, I'd to say, his show-off lasted as long as the warm up track. Then after he was using 10kg for squat (same with me), 7.5kg for chest (if I remember correctly, but weak-me was already carrying 6kg lah), 7.5kg for back track (same here), can't remember what for triceps, and I think was 5kg for biceps... no weights for lunges (how can? I was doing 6kg today - bar!)... Anyways, so bad of me to comment other people's weight selection. Whoopsss...
Today was back to mixed tracks. There were some familiar tracks which meant was bad because those were familiar tracks from Carebear's playlist. The one I found most torturing is the Boom boom back track. I could never manage well with 6 clean and presses. The triceps track which started off with kick-back was really effective for me - I find that I can work my triceps muscle better with kick-backs - I could really feel my triceps muscles worked out during stretching time. Although I generally hate (fear) biceps track, I like this particular short-and-furious track, Pump It! Oh, the abs track was one of my favorites too - Shake Your Tail Feather. Like the punching bit towards the end. Oh, and the reason why I was using bar during lunges was because there were squats in that track. So didn't hug weights which I will usually do during lunges.
Earlier, it has been really busy at work. I didn't fall asleep in the meeting this morning because I was chairing it. A new colleague just joined us and I was also busy "talking" to him the whole day. Young guy, 26 years old (young lah compared with me) and looks like he could perform well. Hope he last long in the company.
There are actually loads to do at work, I better set my priorities right tomorrow!
By the way, I'm changing MG's nickname to MFG...
And when are you leaving for China again? Have a safe trip TD!

Okay
I have "recovered" today. I simply looked terrible last two days, too much crying made my face looked slimmer - commented by one of my friends. Really? How can that be lah... But I'm feeling much better today, thank you gals, guys for cheering me on during the last two days.
Will blog more during the next few days. Feeling so drained and really lack of sleep. I've got an early morning meeting tomorrow, I hope I don't fall asleep.
Today I asked for a koala bear, actually I told you kangaroo also can...
You said "you'll see" - sounds like "lets see how", didn't buy yet I supposed.
It's not about the koala bear, actually, why do I want any stuff toys. It's about getting a present from you...

Saw him one last time...
Do you know how it feels to see someone, and know that this would be the last time seeing him?
Got a call from my hairdresser at 5pm-ish. He told me he just visited a friend of ours in the hospital being seriously ill. I recall visiting him a few years ago, was it two? He was really sick at that time and nearly died, but miraculously, he lived.
"What did the doctor said?"
"He has one to two weeks..."
Did my hairdresser just said "week"?
Had to tear myself from urgent work tasks and left for the hospital at 7pm. Tears were welling up in my eyes when I was driving and almost reaching UM PJ. Went to the ICU at 3rd floor and couldn't find his name. The nurse said he might be at 5th floor. I couldn't find him there either.
I finally called my hairdresser, and apparently he's at 3rd floor at the connecting wing. I should have called to ask him earlier.
"Hi (nurse), is there a patient by the name of Amrafik?"
"Yes, unit 10... his family are there..."
"How is he doing?"
"He just died..."
Did the nurse just said he's dying? I knew that... is there no chance? But wait...
"Sorry, what did you say...?"
"He just died, 10 minutes ago... at 7.35pm"
I finally saw him, once muscular and well built, very particular about hairstyle, now laid motionless, thin hair on a skull which looked like a 5 year old's. I was shocked and devastated, he was unrecognizable, but peacefully asleep.
His mum spoke to me later... She said there were a lot of them who'd visited him the day before, many ex-colleagues and friends. She was glad that all eight brothers and sisters were there by his side when he passed away. I was supposed to comfort her, but I couldn't hold back my tears when she said "he was a good kid" and burst into tears herself. In between sobs, she said, "Please tell everyone he knew that he sends his apologies..."
Sigh...
While I was saying my prayers, someone came over and gave me a big hug and made me cry more. His sister, the one I met the last time I came visit him. She told me he'd been admitted and fighting death since 6 months ago. She was at the hospital alone earlier the day, no one came. She said she was then finally relieved and grateful that his two best friends, including my hairdresser, whom he wanted to see most, but no one had their contacts, finally came in the evening today.
Do we always know when we had to see our friend because it's our last chance? If we do, we are so lucky. I was 10 minutes late...
Left the hospital at 9pm plus. My ticket said 7.29pm.
I am sad because I missed him by 10 minutes... but, perhaps god didn't want me to see his last suffering moments. I will always have his peaceful image in my memory...
Much earlier today, I sms-ed MG telling him I miss him so much and if I can talk to him... he didn't reply my text, but called me back instantly. I wish he's here to share my sorrow and cheer me on...
Sis, thanks for being by my side.
If you want to talk to someone, do it now; If you meant to meet up with someone, do it immediately. Cherish every moment and everyone around you, especially those you care - you can find some other time, but you might not be able to find the person then...

How does The Baker look like?
I didn't bake this weekend, one reason was laziness, the other was, as I told SSB and MB on MSN, there's no one to give the baked product to...
But, can you believe this, I actually joined a RPM class! I was on constant kind reminder from TD and the way she crafted her reminders, there's no way that I can, as I quote, "ter-forget" to go to the class. I can't even say I couldn't join because I brought the wrong attire - if you have read the last post, there was a complete list of details for the class. No mistaken of venue and time, and to complete the "package" I got a treat before class, how's that? Instructors now a days are very creative and have the best interest of the members at heart, they do everything to make sure you attend class, workout hard, and achieve results!
So, there I was, in the RPM studio 15 minutes before class - after a hearty brunch at Kopi O (I love the roti bakar!) - seat all adjusted to the most ideal position, with the help of TD. I don't remember being seated so comfortably during my last few RPM classes (some 2 years ago). I think it's the way the bike (the height of the saddle) is being adjusted - instead of measuring the seat to my hip while standing on the ground, it's measured with the height of my thigh at 90 degree standing on the plinth of the bike.
I heard someone was looking for TTB, and told TD that she couldn't find one that looks happy and like a baker. How does a baker look like by the way? I was seated one row behind and in between Lady Nina and Sham (so I was told by TD it's her). The one with the bandanna and tried to wear to the theme colour of RPM (and was using a dark blue towel).
I'm already feeling my butt ache, not because of the exercise, but the result of seating on the saddle.
The class was great, team-teach by Lilian and TD - high energy level and loads of fun, packed with fantastic "performances" by the instructors. This is the type of class where you don't need to bother about being annoyed by other members encroaching onto your space. However, I think one thing we must try to resist is the resistance - to resist not to unwind the resistance too soon! It's all up in the mind, determination is something we need in RPM classes! Great choice of a cardio class if you are looking for one hardcore class - one thing is, don't cheat. :p
I really didn't know what's the Cow all about, till I asked Lady Nina after the class. Oh, so it was the song title of the BC track, the one with the double back kick, I love that track! No wonder TD was telling us to resist the urge of doing back kicks. I was already feeling like a piece of dead meat during recovery, wondering then when would the class ever going to end. Towards the end of the class, it was great sense of achievement, really good workout for the lower body, heart rate pushed to the max, and not to mention me leaving behind a puddle of sweat underneath the bike. Haha... I think I so deserve a piece of cheesecake!
My legs were shaking when I walked up the stairs, I think it's a better idea to unwind and chill downstairs before walking up, but I had to rush. Yeah, was meeting up "someone special", as TD said, after the class. Is it a good idea to mention this in here, I wonder. Oh well, finger cross he's not going to read my blog.
Wish SSB was there too, we'll sure have loads of fun!

Presents from Japan!
My sis aka MC was back last night. She bought loads of stuff, from the description of the shopping place, I think if I were there, I would have bought 10 times more!!! Here are some highlights...

A new addition to my handphone... a love charm. Haha... they look so cute, and smell good too.

A wrist band, for gym use - it says "sure win" and means you can do it!
Some origami papers which looks so much like fabric, looking very delicate. MC gave these to Aunt, not sure if she will use them - they are too pretty, just feel like framing them up!

A variety of Kit Kats!!! Green tea, apple, sakura and cookies and milk.

See how much MC bought!! You will not be able to stop yourself too I think, I know I won't.

Some very special flavoured, Japanese muachi.

Memory Malfunction
I have been quite a forgetful person. Always forget things in a blink of eyes. Like last night, while I was walking out from the kitchen, mum told me to switch off the fan when I passed the switches, like 10 steps ahead. I gave her a bright Okay, and within 10 steps down to the switch, I forgot and walked pass without even noticing switches, leave alone switching off the fan.
Yesterday I left the office forgetting to lock my drawer. I always lock my drawer! Last night before I went to bed, I slotted in a piece of card and present into my handbag, something I must bring today to the office. This morning I took them out - the card is big, it wouldn't fit my handbag - and put them at the side of my handbag. And guess what? Yeah, I left it at home!
AND, just now when waiting for the lift to come up to the office, I wanted to check the time, and arghhhh... I forgot to wear my watch, but I'm wearing my beads-bracelet - I always wear the bracelet TOGETHER with my watch, in fact, they are always placed together.
The thing is, I can't even remember why I forget things. Now that I think back, and search my memory, when I forgot what I was supposed to do, my mind was on something else. I am the kind who constantly have something going on in my mind, always distracted, always day dreaming - too much planning, too much imaginations. I guess that's why I kept forgetting things - but it's just very bad today, these two days. VERY frustrating!!!
I hope I remember that I need to go to RPM this Sunday - since it is not my normal routine.

Chocolate Cupcakes with Lindt Dark Chocolate Icing
I made these cupcakes the weekend before last and didn't bake last weekend. I need to bake something this weekend to cheer me up. And I need to bake something new so that it's not boring.
I was really upset with the CB carrot cake last weekend. MSN-ed MB last few days and she told me the carrot cake at San Francisco is delicious and better than CB's. So I went to pick up a piece when I'm at KLCC on Tuesday. Not bad, fresh and soft, 2 layers of icing, so that's better than Dome Cafe's. Much better than the one I had at CB. But, not enough raisins, and there was not walnuts.
Maybe I should bake some carrot cupcakes with cream cheese frosting. with A LOT OF cream cheese frosting. :p
One thing about carrot cake - VERY lazy to grate carrots! Uwaa...
MC is coming back from Japan tomorrow night. I miss her so much!!! Heard there are a lot of souvenirs for me :) :)
