Guys!!! I've abstracted this from the comments about my "funny" post in case you guys missed this! This comment has actually settled my worries of whether I've been "rude" in my posting against the beloved "Master C" who has such a big fan base.

Hmmm... on the other hand, while I try not to be rude in MY OWN blog, readers obviously do not think so. They feel that they should just comment as they like on other people's blog, I'd like to call this Fun and Funny as well. So, if you fail to read between the lines, then enjoy reading my "blonde" blog.

Why would Emma thinks that it's important whether the master even read my blog? That's such a joke, and would he know who I am when he reads this? Emma certainly thinks that I'm so close with the combat master (whom I've not even named in full). Yes, Emma must be the most intelligent person in the world to think so.

And why is Emma repeating after me, yeah, I'm sure I'm not intelligent - otherwise I should have at least figured out that my stories are categorized in the arse kissing genre. Haha... Well done to myself then. Or is Emma trying to get some coverage here.

Okay guys and gals. No more combat stories. I'm pissed off. (That's what unintelligent people do, they get pissed off with unworthy strangers and their comments. Or should I? haha...)

BUT. I'm going to switch to arse-kissing the pump instructor instead!!!

Mwah hahaha...

Fun and Funny

Body Combat last night was... fun! Because quite many of my combat buddies were there, the best of all of course honorable Farid. Diha was there too, Stan, Choobacca, Shue and even Steve made it to TC last night. I thought at first that there weren't so many people, but the studio was filled up when the class started, very popular class.

The combat master started the class by making a "lost-and-found announcement", he lost his favorite green Nike shoes (which Diha and I thought we heard "slag"). Whoever found them, please don't wear them to his class. I mean, please return them to him.

The class was packed with Master C's usual "tests" which he termed as "tricking" (e.g. he will say go right when it's shuffle left), he said he will always try to trick us so as to train up our reaction and alertness, something like that. I think, for him not giving instructions for the choreo during certain part is a good idea for instructors-in-training, as that's the best time for them to test their memories. As for normal members (example: me), it's good to be standing behind experts like my combat buddies so I can follow them, (do I look like I'm intelligent enough to be able to memorize the choreo? Not to mention mind full of distraction from work matters) otherwise, I will not survive through this type of class without making a fool out of myself. Though the combat master appeared to be less cool (as in kung fu style macho cool) this way, but I'd to say that it's very funny and entertaining. Oh, and this is what I think you should know if you want to join his class:

If Master C asked:

Question: What are you waiting for? (in the middle of a track):
Wrong answer: instructions from the teacher for the next move? (with raised eye brows and all...)
Right answer: get on with the choreo yourselves.

Question: Where is the back kick?? (when he didn't tell us and when we didn't automatically add on in the middle of the track)
Wrong answer: (retort:) because you didn't tell us.
Right answer: sorry teacher, we forgot. *giggles

Question: Is that my fault?! (when we did wrongly because we were unclear of the instruction/ got confused/ missed the cue)
Wrong answer: YES! IT'S YOUR FAULT! (while thinking YOU are the teacher not us).
Right answer: Whoopsss... course not!!!

An OK class despite the total mess (when members all gone wrong directions, no synchronized moves etc). So, when the combat master does nothing or pause in the middle of the track, don't think he'd forgotten his choreo, he's just testing! (well, we'll never know actually, haha *evil launghs)

Body Pump on the other hand was no nonsense but still fun-packed. No mistake, no missed cue and full of useful tips and techniques from the instructor. Highly recommended for beginners (even the most hopeless beginners hehe). Love the class! and it's DEFINITELY worth my 55 minutes. Totally agreed. Not to mention getting pressie after all the hard work. Thank you!!! It was nice (and nice of you).

After getting the tips on how to balance my bar/weights for squat, I did find so far that it's more comfortable doing the squat track, no more neck pain. And, I've took the suggestion of increasing my weights during lunges, and this actually gives more impact to the workout. I agree that it's a bit too light to only carry 5kgs (not for last night though, lunges with bench + increase weight = instant death. So better not). Since I don't really like using the bar, I normally hug a 5kg plate for lunges. In order for me to still look "pretty" haha, I hug two 5kg plates, instead of the jumbo 10kg plate, which I'm sure will make me look extremely clumsy.

I love the song for squat track, one that I can surprisingly sing a few lines. Bicep? Can't sing that song lah, except for that same 3 words Carebear sung. Chest track? "I donno what I'm doing!!!" (scream, not sing).

1 Hour of Cardio

Supposed to be doing Hobbes' pump on Saturday. But he's away this week and I was still considering whether to join that class when I was examining the timetable board outside the studio after I arrived.

I thought it was, after all, still early for the pump class and I was planning to do some cardio before the class, so I left that decision to later... Went on the stepper first and was doing between an effort level of 4 to 12, mostly 6 and 8. Did a 30-minute exercise and the machine showed that I'd burned about 220 calories, with a distance of about 100 over floors. Since I was having muscle aches already on my back and shoulder, a bit from Thursday's free weights and yesterday's yoga (focused on strength training, so did loads of push-up stuff), I decided I might as well workout more on my lower body instead of doing pump. Besides, my legs and bum are getting bigger, not to mention me putting on 3kgs. :(

So, I did another 30-minutes on the stepper (I wish I could join one of FI's BS right then!). So in total, 1 hour of cardio, burned about 450 calories and climbed 200 over floors.

Still aiming to work on my new year resolutions, so I did some abs crunches on the bench - 100 front, 100 obliques, per side. Should be enough I hope. Some stretching to end my "session" but still not so stretchy yet.

PT was at LM for his personal training today. So it was good as well that I didn't join BP and managed to catch up with him for a while before he went back to Maxis for his following session. Needed also to ask him about some options - because sometimes the free weights area is dominated by big muscle guys and is no place for "little" lady like me. Therefore, I wanted to know which machines to replace those bench workout in the programme PT gave me the last time. Knowing free weights and machines is very useful especially during times when I miss pump classes ;).

25 Only

I decided that blur member like me is not suitable for highly challenging combat classes like the ones conducted by Master C. In those classes, you need a clear mind and good memory to know exactly which time is to shuffle to the left even though the instruction given by the instructor clearly says right (I don't want to be stepping on or clashing into the person beside me, it's dangerous). Not to mention the need of remembering some parts of the choreo sometimes.

So, the plan was to join pump instead at MML. How wrong can I go?

Arrived at MML some how early since the class was only commencing at 7.50pm. But, I still missed the class because I took the class registration for granted - I wanted to finish off with my last 2 minutes of my half-hour stepper cardio therefore only went to put my name down after the line at the registration was cleared. I'd filled my name on the 27th line and later found that the class could only admit 25. Darn...

Ended up doing free weights, but I thought it's good enough as I can feel my muscle ache building up already. I seldom do free weights at MML and must have looked really lost when I was in search for the machines. I was extremely puzzled when I tried to use the assist chin ups/dips because I couldn't see the pin for the weight stack at first (only found it later lying somewhere on the floor). Later, I couldn't find where were the spare handles for the cable weights machine. Haha... Looked so lost really. Finally did some abs crunches and stretching - in order to achieve the new item on my new year resolution.

Parmesan and Sun Dried Tomato Bread by MC

Freshly baked for our new year eve BBQ party at home by MC.

Homemade humus to go with the bread.

Or dip into olive oil with balsamic vinegar. VERY yummy!
