Saturn Transit

My colleague just told me about the transit which happens every 2 1/2 years. So it has just begun and this is the time things will change and we must try to attract what we want.

So I googled to find out about the Transit of Saturn over my zodiac sign.

Effect of Saturn Transit on Cancer (Karka)
Saturn is currently transiting your third house. Saturn is going to give you good results and enhance your confidence and give you the desired results which you were expecting for a long time. Conditions at work place will also improve and you are likely to get full support from your superior and bosses. Success is assured from all spheres. Traveling will be beneficial for you. People in business should expect good results and gains from deals. Your honor and prestige will be on upswing in this transit. You may also go on a long-awaited pilgrimage. However, you need to be more confident in your approach. Short journeys could be tiresome. Throat and ear related problems should be considered seriously.

You might feel the desire for more education from many different sources. You may notice that there are increased opportunities to learn through workshops, seminars etc. This 3rd house has a lot to do with your immediate environment as it rules siblings, neighbors and routine in that regard. It also has to do with your mental abilities and mental processes. Saturn transit will give good effects and favorable period. You will get pleasure, honor and expand your social base. Domestic life will be harmonious though you may face some trouble through your brothers. You will enjoy sound health. Chronic sufferers will get relief.

This is for MC and BIL:

Effect of Saturn Transit on Leo (Simha)

Saturn is transiting your second house. You are in the third and last phase of your Sadhe Saati. Problems regarding loss of health, wealth will be there. Some friends, relations and colleagues may turn against you. Those in business may suffer financial losses. Domestic atmosphere will get vitiated by arguments and altercations. Family troubles and financial worries will crop up. Delay and hindrance will continue in all your ventures. Business people have to pass through a period of frustration. Fresh investment and further expansion of business should be with held. There are also chances of you being misquoted and misunderstood. Even your spouse may not understand you correctly. Your enemies will be at large in this transit and may disturb your peace. Saturn seeks to make you more responsible with your own money so that you will have more money in the end. By the time this transit is over, you will have a new appreciation for money and what it can do for you.

Eii? Hmm...

MFG's

Effect of Saturn Transit on Aquarius (Kumbha) :Saturn is currently transiting your eighth house or you are under the sway of Ashtam Shani. You will feel a squeeze on shared financial money. This could include anything from insurance, taxes, stocks, bonds, inheritance, debts, loans or anything else that is a shared resource with a partner. This can be with a marriage partner or business partner. There is a strong possibility that you will need to learn how to live with less money especially if you have had "shared" money with someone else. Remember that Saturn doesn’t cause trouble. All it does is bring it to the surface. Saturn going through your 8th House doesn’t have to indicate anything like the world shaking. Saturn transiting the eighth brings about sexual dysfunctions, whether we encounter these in ourselves or in our partners. We may face difficulties satisfying our partner and/or encounter problems with intimacy. Life will be quiet unsteady. Saturn’s transit in this house is poised to spoil your health and undiagnosed health problems may be a matter of concern. You may suffer from chronic ailments. Financial matters and all transactions could come under a cloud and strain. Loss of position, wealth is possible. You will face undue delay in recovering long pending dues. Expenditure will be more than income. You are likely to get some unexpected money like from legacy insurance etc.

Hmmm...

But, sounds like good outlook for Cancerian. Maybe it's a good time to start TeaRoom. :)

Fighting with time

Stat report shows that the readership of this blog is dropping alarmingly. Oh well, there's nothing for the readers to read actually!

I've got a lot of Raya order aka hectic baking schedule. I am grateful, don't get me wrong, just that my 2 days leave application has been rejected, but thankfully, boss allowed me to take one day off. So my one whole day, potentially more than 15 hours of baking/ decorating activities have to be spread out so I have to work another 4 hours extra from today. (tomorrow coming back late due to an order delivery). Very upset with boss, he said 2 days tooooo long and it's so busy. Well, yeah, the office is very busy, but not that my workload is up to my eye ball or something, it's other people being busy and he just want to tell everyone that no leave will be approved from then. So yeah, he loudly announced after being very annoyed for signing my leave form that no one else is suppose to take leave from now until the new skin care product is launched in October. Fine.

I might not be blogging as often. I need sleeping time. Thankfully, even though my cousin sister has to be "on leave" for SPM, my cousin brother is on term break. Phew... he's been a VERY big help. He is also going to be my chef for my TeaRoom Savoury Test Kitchen. :)

And MFG's order came in just nice, just before my hectic schedule, so delivered his today. I was so upset and carried away with my leave issue (among another annoying issue) that I was not prepared when he gave me a big hug. Aww... so warm. Thanks, that was really comforting. Only a bit clashed due to wrong coordination for the goodbye kiss.

I'm so sleepy, but "jia you"! I need to work now.

Miss

Sometimes I wonder who will actually notice my MSN personal message. It was fun the other day when LGM, BO and I were putting up our respective comments and answers towards "yao char kuey" as our personal messages. Today I put up an excerpt of my conversation with Swee "do something else besides TTB" and a friend asked me what is "TTB". A few people asked me last few days "who is it that you miss?" because the personal message was "miss you loads". And all who'd asked basically knew who I miss lah, simply asking. But still, I didn't "say" who, and this certain person was not told personally, so this person also doesn't know unless he is clever enough, or somewhat quite "perasan" :p.

I wish I have a set of tools that can "repair" my feelings. There is someone whom I don't see all the time, in fact I seldom see him (perhaps once a month or less) but when I knew that he's not in the country, I missed him a lot. Strange right? No difference whether he's in the country or not, I still don't see him. Maybe when you think of someone, your heart is actually with him, and when he flew far away, you heart is no longer with you.

Bugging me

The flu bug has been bugging me lately. I would call it a bad sinus which has been bugging me for the passed 20 years or so. Combined with tiredness and late nights, I supposed my body has reach its time for a shut down for maintenance. You know the saying about no time to be ill? It's true, there are so many deadlines for deliveries lately that I must "choose" when to be sick.

I wasn't feeling that great yesterday at work, have been sneezing and had a running nose. Got myself to last through the whole day, but decided that I needed to pay my doctor a visit. Doctor gave me a day off and I've opted for the drowsy type of flu medicine.

The medicine was so potent, slept through the whole night and I only woke up this morning because I needed to take care of my little pig. Had some watermelon juice and a banana just because I needed some food to go with my medicine. After that was more sleep, from 10am till 5pm, no lunch. I'm still feeling very dizzy so I skipped the flu medicine this evening.

Now to get more sleep and hopefully I'm all set for more deadlines and late nights...

Ohh... MFG sent me a text this morning after not seeing me on line. :)

Support

I was so touched when I got the "guinea pig" support from LGM and Swee. In fact LGM has given her comments on the chicken pies and the best thing about her comments is she told me what she dislike and like. So in this way, I would know what to improve and what not to change.

Swee has also taken 2 of the chicken pies even though she has her "numbers" to watch and achieve. Since I know that the fillings is not great, told her to just try the pastry because I think the pastry is also very important when it comes to pie besides the fillings.

MFG on the other hand, even though my official taster, told me that maybe I should not give the pies to him if I don't think it is nice because he doesn't want to get a bad first impression. Humph... and huh? bad first impression? I would have thought bad first impression will actually do "good" because version 2 of this pie onwards will taste better. So I guess like LGM has put it, MFG is the VIP taster, and perhaps he should be arranged to try the ultimate version only. But still, I could do with some "support", couldn't I?

I have asked my cousin sis to try for me, but don't think anyone at home can give me much help. I still see same number of pies at home this morning. I will be throwing them away when mum is not looking. Soon...

Next round I should make lesser quantity so I don't have to throw so much away. Okay, actually I shouldn't think that way, I shall aim to achieve a perfect version the next round!

Thanks again to guinea pigs!!! ;)

Here are the comments for my notes:

LGM said overall edible
- Pastry not as hard as stone to throw (LOL), not fluffy and brown enough. Good thing about dough not super oily and actually melts in your mouth (I think this is because I used unsalted butter and not those pastry margarine)
- Chicken filling, don't use mince meat, use diced
- No sweet corn and peas

Swee said she took more than one bite
- Pastry okay, buttery and salty enough (not sure whether will be too soft after heated)
- Chicken filling a bit plain and dry, don't put onions that she can taste the texture and don't chop mushroom too fine.

Okay, anything else to add? Lets take a break and I shall deliver version 2.

Chicken Pie - Experiment 1

Here's version 1 of the chicken pie. I think the pastries are okay but the filling is actually quite terrible.

I got this Little pies and cake recipe book from sis as a birthday present previously. Saw these mini party pies which I thought are so cute and I like things in smaller sizes... So adapted the filling recipe from here... Hmm... it's actually quite bad. The pastry dough in this book are all ready to roll, so I took the pastry recipe from another recipe book.

I needed 2 types of pastries for the chicken pie - a shortcrust pastry for the base, and a puff pastry for the top. The puff pastry took me about 2 hours - you need to chill the dough for 30 minutes after every roll and fold. Next time I shall make the dough in advance and freeze them.

Here are pictures taken on the one MC made. She made a giant chicken pie with a very thin pastry but delicious filling. It was like eating fillings :). But I think there should be some pastry... and perhaps not use can soup since according to MC, cousin bro could tell that it was Cambell straight away.

I'm now in between throwing away the pies, or torturing my tasters. Haha...
Okay, till then...

I will try my best...

I was quite inspired the other day when Swee discussed about this Chinese proverb - "百世修得同船渡,千世修来共忱眠". We were discussing the word "修" and were trying to determine what was the best translation for this word to English. Normally this word alone means something like "cultivate" but in this sentence, it doesn't mean cultivate. Well, it does still have the essence of cultivating I feel, but we thought then that it was supposed to mean more like "put in effort" or "hard work".

This proverb was from the Buddha - 佛曰: 百年修得同船渡,千年修得共枕眠! 而千年之后又能相守几时? 并非我曰! He also said - 五百次的回眸,才换来人群中的一次擦身而过.

It is difficult to translate the proverb word by word, but if we must, this is what it means roughly - "one will get to be in a same boat (crossing the river etc) with another person after one has made an effort (to build a relationship) with this person in question for the passed one hundred years; one will get to share the same pillow (actually means gotten married with each other) with another person after one has made an effort (to build a relationship) with this person for the passed one thousand years."

Buddha also said - "only after one has turned five hundred times to glance at another person that one will get to closely pass by this other person in question in the crowd for one time."

The discussion topic was actually about "缘" - destiny.

Like Swee said, from her point of view, and it actually meant to say, that it took great effort and "time" for two persons to be able to be together; therefore, we must cherish everyone around us, especially your other half. It is not easy, IF ONLY we remember our passed lives (yes Swee, coming to that point too shortly) that you will really feel and say the "it's not easy" with conviction. And if you can "see" what you've gone through to get to where you are with him/her today, I'm sure you will definitely handle the relationship with utmost care. :)

Now I will leave Swee to talk about this in her blog - are you still going to blog about this? Else can always leave your views in my comments and start another discussion session here with some anonymous - if they do drop in. Haha...

So I told Swee that I feel really sad every time I see this proverb because I actually see this from another point of view as well - which you might think is negative.

If I have met someone I really like and have done all the right things I could but still couldn't get things to work out between the two of us, it is because there has not been enough effort during the passed lives to enable "enough" destiny for our relationship to work in this life. Therefore, there is nothing I can do about it - at least not for now.

So, knowing the "theory" behind this matter of destiny, I will not give up on all the possible efforts - I will still try my best to stay in touch with him, make sure I send him a "good morning" message everyday, be at outings and occasions where he will be at, pamper him with as many gifts as I can (or as he will accept), and not give up being just his best friend because I've probably put in a lot of effort in the passed nine hundred years to get to be his best friend - and with all these aforementioned efforts, I will probably get to be with him in my next, or next next next next life.

(note to self - lets just 往生净土 and never "come back" actually)

Nevertheless, I'm somewhat positive, no?

And my dearest said, the problem is I will not remember (him). I know I won't remember him, but with so much effort, I know I will like him all over again.

And hopefully he will feel so too then.
