A bit tired

I can't believe it, I was so busy and tired today! I thought I will be leisure-ing around and can "finish work" at 6pm and hang out with MC, followed by watching DVDs, blogging, FBing... But I guess no more honeymooning. Need a lot of time for baking and my new project.

Weekend was great by the way. I was at The Curve on Saturday because I wanted to deliver 2 cakes near that side for the convenience of the customer aka ex-colleague Shen. So I went over to gym for RPM, it was a launch class. I was riding side by side PiC, some more got Carebear in front, it was great! PiC and I even planned to join pump after that. But half way through RPM I told her maybe we don't join pump, moreover, PiC had her marathon the next day so she shouldn't overdo... then later we decided to join pump, so skipped the stretching... by the time we arrived at the main studio, I was feeling very tired and wanted to throw up haha... so I told her lets chill and not join the class. But after that 5 minutes of rest, we went into the class! LOL

And I was really so tired out after the 2 sessions of workout, seldom do back to back classes and one cannot manage without enough training. Haha... I also managed to catch up with my ex (company) yoga instructor who was in pump (who was earlier in combat)^^. Great to see her and we arranged to do a "tai tai" slot class on Wednesday followed by lunch with MFG and one of my ex-colleague, fellow yogi.

After workout was late lunch with PiC at TGIF, managed to find some meat free item and had a great chit chat. Felt great and comforted after an afternoon hang out, knowing that the next day I would have to work - on 2 deliveries.

And so the 2 deliveries continue until today, so much to decorate and prepare while so many phone calls to make! Luckily I decided to go to gym first thing in the morning. Based on experience, I never get to gym if I get started with work first. But I was feeling extremely tired in the RPM class, was it due to lack of sleep? Still tired from Saturday workout? Geezz... sign of old age!

Tomorrow will be another busy day. And I miss MFG a lot (and I know I am so random!).

A bit frustrated

I know... You cannot imagine how I can get frustrated, I am supposed to be lady of leisure ^^

I don't know why but lately there have been requests for cake deliveries. Deliveries are fine, I need to deliver cakes to customers anyways, otherwise how do they collect from me when I am baking from home ya... But these deliveries lately that caused frustrations are deliveries to recipients, to the customers' friend/ husband etc. Yeah, so I am like providing dispatch services like the florist. Only I am not on motorbike going around.

I know what is my problem, sometimes when you get to a certain level, you just get frustrated doing clerical tasks, for example, or in this case dispatch work. I had supposedly gotten over it, I mean there is no cafe or proper shop and no proper systems, so how or who else can do it right? (I will definitely set up my logistics when the shop is open) But there is this particular customer who had ordered a relatively low sales value of products but I need to not only get her cakes delivered to 2 different places within the same morning, but also need to get balloons for her. Yeah, although I am charging her, but I did not charge ridiculously high price, me being considerate. So it gets me into frustration mode when the customer start adding tasks for me and makes it looks like it's just "by the way". Grrr... I feel like a servant.

When I can stop myself from feeling like so, I will be okay. Otherwise, since I am my own boss, perhaps it is time I say no to these extra requests, pay me or not. I hate saying this but I think that is the perk of being a boss! And after all, I didn't quit my annoying job to be annoyed again!!

My MFG moments

Having some problems signing into my hotmail and got directed to the account information page... apparently I've registered my hotmail address 10 years ago!

Right, that was a completely unrelated piece of information.

Today is one of my day which is more "lifestyle", some days (like yesterday) it was mostly staying at home, baking and doing some paper work after a gym session at the nearby neighbourhood FF at LM.

This morning I woke up at 6.30am, had breakfast with MC and BIL and I was on my way to gym at TC already. Walked into the locker room and saw Carebear, ohh, leaving already on her way to work :p. Whereas I, was about to start a pump class by little bro ^^

Yes dear, you should look into and aim for the tai tai lifestyle, but shall I say, I won't be in this fantastic lifestyle for long lah. Only this morning MC and BIL was diagnosing my insomnia problem. I told them it is not just a problem of me thinking too much but it's also my imagination gone wild. How shall I say? It's like Ally McBel syndrome.

I told that to MFG who said that I think too much therefore couldn't sleep. It's a good description, since he could also imagine what I am going through. He said if symptoms persist, perhaps I need the help of pills, mild ones. And I must gather my will power and mind to think positive, no imagining the disasters, must try to get enough sleep so that I have the energy and won't feel agitated to prevent getting more serious insomnia. After speaking to Dr MFG, I felt more comforted. One of my MFG moments which I wish can be my everyday moments. :)

I was doing some work at gym after pump, there were not enough seats at gym that is suitable for computer usage, those little sofa seats and tables are too low. The other seat with the taller table and chairs, did not have plug point! Arrgghh... So happened MFG sent me an instant message saying that he's already at Starbucks here, so went to join him for chit chat at our second office. Was supposed to have lunch with some ex-colleagues together with MFG, but ex-colleagues couldn't make it. So we had lunch ourselves...

MFG has gone off for his meeting and I think I should be on my way home soon, since I am not able to get access to my hotmail and I also have a cake to prepare for tomorrow's delivery.

Happy working you all :)

A great day

I think I have not done any back to back classes for more than a year... Finally, today I joined combat and pump back to back. The result... ouch... can feel my muscle ache building up and sooo tired! In fact, I couldn't manage the usual squat and back track weights.

Having not done combat for more than a year, I was a bit blur when it comes to the new tracks, and was trying to conserve some energy for the next pump class haha... I heard that Lady Nina has been teaching combat but this was my first time in her class, together with Renee... Great techniques and energy (who am I to comment actually, but this was how I feel hehe) and I like the way the instructions were given, clear and natural.

Almost quarter way through my PiC finally appeared. Thought she'd went into RPM but apparently she was late due to traffic jam. She also joined pump with me and as usual the Grand Master of Torture (haha... haven't used this term for a long time) did her "job" by really "motivating" us all with fantastic tracks! :p :p. However, the class was a bit cramp lah, not enough space. Or perhaps I am used to the morning classes to feel this way.

Managed to also catch late lunch at Pho Hua with PiC. I was craving for a cup of coffee hence ordered one. But the coffee was too potent till I got headache afterwards. Perhaps I should have added the hot water to dilute the coffee instead of adding the hot water thro the drip again. And I was glad that they had a vegetarian option.

After that was picking up sis, BIL and baby from LCCT. Yeah, they were finally back after 3 days of holidays at Penang. Heard they had a great time. I did too today, such a great day.

I do hope my life will be great from now.

:p

What a day!!

I was awaken this morning by the sound in the next shower...

OMG!!! BIL taking his shower! That can only mean it's already 6.30am! I was supposed to wake up at 5.30am/ 5.45am for gym!

Jumped out of bed and quickly gotten ready.... Reached gym at 7am. Yay! Class wasn't until 15 minutes time - my last Monday morning RPM.

But, I think it's really meant NOT to be... I got STUCK IN THE LIFT! I could not believe it! Geezzz.... for that 40 minutes another lady and I who got stuck in the lift had rung the alarm for what... 5 times? more? That guard kept telling us that the technician was on his way and I kept asking him WHAT TIME? HOW LONG? We were going to faint! (No, we weren't, we we just trying to instil some urgency in that security guard - we found out later that it was the guard who spoke to us). The truth was, the technician was not on site. I actually called bomba eventually, I told them the building management had failed to send someone for more than half hour and we need external help. But from the sound of bomba, they were not planning to come. But anyways, gave the technician some extra task in calling to cancel my bomba request.

By the time I place my bag in the locker, it was 7.45am. Don't even have time for a quick cardio, unless I do only 15 minutes kind of quick. But I got no mood already by then. Went into the steam bath room for a while, and then showered to get ready for work.

After a long morning, and busy day, I ended my day by getting some annoying skype messages from my Soon-To-Be Ex-Boss. Grrrr.... He said I must go back later (after I left the company) to do another handover because he is currently not in the office, and neither is the other boss. Well, I felt like telling him "it's not my fault that you guys are not".

And he kept asking me if I'm going to just rest at home or starting work. I told him "vacation", which he said meant staying at home and I can just come back to office anytime. Arghh... I didn't answer that. Whatever I do outside office hour is entirely my own business and I do not wish to visit after I leave the company. Besides, there is nothing much to handover - which I told this STBEB. I told him to let me know what is unclear later THEN we will see if there is a need for me to come back again. Hey, even if I must, please fit into my schedule, I will only want to go that way if I have other appointments, and who's going to pay my RM8 toll and some RM5 parking money? I am not even charging my manhour.

Why the panic? There are other people to handover to. And I hope he was just being funny saying that he's "in the dark", haha... funny. I send him work in progress report every week, EVERY WEEK, if he's in the dark then he will never find out the bright side. How can he even begin to say that he's in the dark beats me.

My day... more gossips when I had dinner with one of my colleagues. He is the longest serving staff after me and I told him it's a Titanic and he better jump soon or sink together with the ship.

Okay... I should sleep early tonight :)

Getting ready to be lady of leisure... ?

Really? Can I call myself lady of leisure when I am unemployed later?

It is actually subjective I suppose, depending how you view the situation. I might have all the flexibility of time to a certain extend, but I will still have deadlines to meet - assuming that I have enough orders. And if I take up the consultancy projects, I will still have 2 jobs. Same arrangement like previous with the difference that I have 2 part time jobs instead of one of them a full time; I will be my own boss instead of working for the success of other people's business.

How hectic or leisure my life will be will be depending on how much I want to do I suppose. And when you have your own business, there is no such line between personal and working hours anymore, anytime is a working hour and anytime can be leisure as well. I might even find myself (I'm quite certain) working more hours than I used to. I have been told that by the self employed and home bakers that I will be working harder and longer but happier. I do hope so since that's one of the main reason I quit my job.

Many people are getting to know my resignation already, and almost everyone congratulated me haha... everyone said I deserve happiness - a bit "kua cheong" lah don't you think? MFG told one of the friends lately when asked the reason I quit my job that I need a break from "someone" (yeah, he actually used that word). It's absolutely witty and such a good script that I've adopted that line.

I'm blogging at Starbucks and am wishing that my TeaRoom will get people like here surfing, working, reading... it's such a culture that comforts me :). I still haven't gotten a location for TeaRoom, and I am still discussing on some non-related projects. I am not sure which area I wanted to spend more time on yet, because I still need to pay bills and feed myself, so must be realistic.

As for today, this weekend, amidst the orders (worked till 2am last night on Tom and Jerry!), I will take some time enjoying being a lady of leisure, so to speak.

Ohh... I saw a grandmama with her grandson just now here in Starbucks. So sweet, reminded me of my late grandma. My late popo also likes wearing the Chinese style top and pants bottom, tailor made with flowery, colorful material. The difference was this grandmama here can manage to do the ordering at Starbucks, can use fork and knife very well and looks very in dependant. I wish my mum can be at such leisure and enjoy life with her grandchild (grandchildren) soon. I hope she can go places and live the life she wants with her favorite companion.

Life is good! :)

The resignation chapter

Just the day before my planned resignation day, I had butterfly in my stomach, fluttering for excitement! Finally, the day I longed for has arrived, after that I can see freedom and happiness.

Then the unexpected news that my grandpa passed away...

The resignation was delayed for one day, it was supposed to be delayed for 2 days as I was planning to take 2 days off work. But unfortunately, I had to conduct this training on Tuesday morning which ridiculously no one else can conduct, and these colleagues of mine won't even offer to call to postpone the training (one of them gave me the number instead!!!). Grr... out of irritation and rage, I told them fine, I will go! So might as well report to work half day, and also at the same time tender my resignation letter.

All those drama which I expect, all the getting ready for annoying remarks and mind torturing questioning.... did not happen. My so called exit interview was only 2 minutes, with the big boss telling me to prepare handover... and a casual "where are you going?"

After telling boss that I'm not going anywhere, just taking a break, he said "Ohh no job yet is it? Okay lah..."

So that's done.

Everyone thought and expect that my boss will try to ask me to stay. But I guess not this boss and besides, he knew well that there was nothing else he could offer me and most importantly, he knew that he doesn't need me there anymore. Might as well change new blood for the company so to speak. You see, another colleague of mine who was the longest serving employee, tendered her letter the same time as I did. So that made 2 of the company's longest serving staff. So yeah, the company will be flowing new blood in June.

After all the joy, now I'm feeling a bit lost in direction. I have not been unemployed for a long long time... It is scary to be unemployed and not knowing how much income I will be getting and whether I will have enough money to start TeaRoom when I finally get a suitable location.

I think I will be selling cupcakes at pasar malam soon... do come support k. :)
