Back in action!

Back to gym today after missing from gym for a whole 3 weeks! I have been that busy and the first thing to give up will be gym besides social outings. I hope I am able to keep a balance and not having to overdo myself all the time. I told MC this morning that I felt comfortable working out even though I haven't worked out for 3 weeks, and she said that's because I was not stressed and tired out.

I did RPM this morning to start and I managed to put up the resistance. The only drawback was I did not sweat much. Weather too cold this morning? Continued with body pump and can feel the body warmer after the squat track. I can feel my knee pain now, I shouldn't have used 10kgs (the usual weights), and perhaps I should have just used body weight instead of adding the 5kgs plate. Anyways, I cannot manage my usual weights from back track onwards...

Nevertheless, I expect myself to be waking up with terrible muscle ache!!

Now, to lose those weights, I need to go on a diet. Bye bye ice coffee with ice cream at Dome. Ohh... And BR ice creams...

And perhaps a massage will be great to complement my break :)

Taking a break...

Starbucks 尖东, Hong Kong

It has been a really busy week. At first the week has been booked for some birthday cakes, the normal weekly traffic. Later there was a bigger order of 7 boxes from a single customer. I took that order at first thinking that she wanted to break the minimum order into several small boxes. Ended up 7 big boxes. It was really tiring.

I had also spent a huge amount of time trying to settle a few critical matters for my secret project. It has been tough decision making and trying to get hold of people in the other end of the globe during midnight and early in the morning.

Lack of sleep made the mind grew so tired and cloudy. There has been a time when I baked one whole portion of cupcakes extra; and I baked a cake in a wrong tin size had to bake another one; one of the cakes my cousin helped me baked went wrong, I baked that again towards midnight; the figurines were taking longer time to make; there were lesser details on the work.

I have decided that I need to shut down and reset. So apparently this is a job which requires long hour AND a clear focus mind. I declined a few orders for this week, the last one was the customer who called on Thursday afternoon for an order on Saturday. On "normal" days, I could have taken the order, but it was a very busy Thursday, I was still trying to complete Barney and friends, and after which I need to prepare 3 other boxes of cakes for party and giveaway. The request in question was for a Barbie... geezz... human figurine, I don't think I can even focus my eyesight for the job. If I had taken the job, I would be making Barbie right now thinking that it might collapse onto the cupcake for not being dry and sturdy enough.

It is sometimes hard to say no and it's hard to put a stop on things, but I realize you just have to sometimes. I put up an FB status before I had decided what to do with that last minute order, and everyone cheered me on, saying that I can do it. MFG on skype told me, if I really needed a break, then it is better to reject the order. I guess he had seen me in my really tired state before and can see that I must rest. At the end I told the customer I was really sorry... I hope she found a better baker.

I need to get back to my gym routine hopefully next week. I don't have orders for next week and I hope to keep it that way for now so that I can rest and workout again. Those strength I built should be gone by now, 3 weeks of missing from gym. And today I went to an open house, with me in my old baju which fits me nicely!!! Ahhhh... I put on the new one at first and the waist must have been 2 inches smaller!!! This was the case where I was upset because I could fit into my old clothes. :(((

I said I missed MFG because he couldn't make it to the open house today. It felt like I haven't seen him for a long time, but in fact I only just saw him last week. I put up a message on my MSN saying "What do I do when I cannot tell you that I miss you?" and one of my friends could guess who I missed. It has been so long already...

I need sleep.

Tiredness

Almost there with this weeks' deliveries... I am so tired.

Things are not smooth with my project, I am feeling very unsettled.

I miss MFG!

And I will miss sis when she moves out next week :(((

The MFG moments, here and there

In HK, at Starbucks near Avenue of Stars

iPhone 4 is cool but I think I am not even half way to getting to know my phone. MFG just gave me a tutorial yesterday, installed a few things on phone and laptop for me. He got his iPhone 4 from Singapore. MFG also gave me some loupo biscuit!! Mum was very happy to receive those. :)) Now I don't feel too bad about my shopping incompetency :p

MFG was introduced to BO yesterday at Starbucks, when BO anxiously waited for his "moment". I can see MFG being so impressed with BO's proposal plan haha... So, now most of my friends met MFG. Still what I always say - too bad. Sigh.

Yesterday for the first time I left first instead of waited until MFG had to go. Normally I try to spend the most possible time with him to get a maximum MFG dosage.

I was at a my biz partner's house today, after the discussion I told them MFG was at HK too almost at the same time. They were impressed that we went to HK together and were about to tease me, but I told them I didn't even see MFG while I was there. And they thought it was such a pity since two persons were at the same place so far away. Oh well, what to do?

I am having bad cough, which unfortunately not even a few dosage of MFG can help. Having bad nights, disturbed sleep and terrible eye bag! Next week is going to be crazy week with quite a lot of deliveries...

Incompetent!

At Pacific Coffee on a busy street

I'm back from my holiday trip at a place that is full of hustle and bustle. How's that?

And I am currently feeling bad that I didn't get the 老婆饼that mum mentioned just now, which she thought I would have gotten some. Ahhhh... I thought we had a hard time finishing those we got back during our last trip, and I wasn't crazy about them, so I thought it was not well received. Sigh... if I had skipped lunch at airport, I could have had more time to shop and perhaps I would have gotten more. :( Just spoke to MFG, he bought some from airport but only has one box, or 2 pieces to spare. Told him it's alright. I hope I remember this during my next trip. Or just simply buy loads of stuff back - better overdo than miss!

Overall, the my shopping wasn't so competent this time. I hadn't gotten sis anything, except for the egg tart. Ohh.. yes, I got her something else, hehe... but apparently nothing special :p. I only got 2 pairs of new clothes for myself, even though this was a shopping trip to get clothes. The pricing is much higher now a days, and I am still staying at the era where I don't spend over RM100 for a pair of casual outings. In fact, I really hesitated getting those 2 pairs which cost me HK$280 in total! But both were 2-piece set, so considered okay. Besides, their selling prices are definitely more than RM150 if sold over here...

And... the supermarket shopping was a disappointment. And mum also mentioned that she had forgotten to tell me to get extra bowl noodle for her friend's son! Ahh... more incompetency! And did't get any thing from one of our favorite cookie shop because I thought I can from the airport, but the airport branch was no longer there! Only just found out from MFG that it is apparently outside the departure hall! Humphhh.... Missed out again!!

I wanted to get iPhone 4, but seriously, no one is selling because they were out of stocks! But luckily I got a source and got one :))... So this was one of the more efficient shopping I had for this trip.

I hope I can sleep tonight and not dwell on my incompetency, and I hope I don't discover that I missed more tomorrow.

Impression

Hong Kong gives me different feel this trip. I am rather disappointed with a few too many things:

- The service of the hotel, which I've stayed for 3 times, has dropped. Or perhaps it was just that particular front desk staff who was a little defensive, and he was the one who told me I cannot check into my room until one and a half hours later. Hey, I arrived at almost 4pm, not like 12pm!! Never even offer any drinks, didn't suggest that I can go shopping first while they took care of my baggage. Only said they can help me send my bag to my room when the room is ready. BUT you know what?? I arrived back at the hotel and I took my own bag to my room.

- The high street retail shops are not as good as I'd remember them, nothing to buy unless I want to buy expensive, but not even branded stuff. Perhaps they are branded but not branded enough for my to know.

- The breakfast place does not sell egg tart anymore. The shop that I got some egg tarts during my last last trip and the one which sis approved of, doesn't even exist anymore! I just managed to find one, Janette lead me there just now but hopefully they still have a few when I return. It's a bit far to get them just before my flight. But they are less than RM2.50 per tart so even if they are so bad, it's at least SOME egg tart...

- The cookie shop, 奇华 ONLY has honeydew filling butter cookies. They said no more stock store wide! Ahhh... that bad?? And of course that meat floss thingy that had been out of stocks the last time we came, is still out of stock, or non existence.

- The bowl noodles that I wanted to get only has one flavour. No other better choice.

- The clothes are much more expensive than the last time, I only manage to get 2 pairs. HOWEVER, the sale at G2000 was really good. The shirt that Aunty wants me to get for Uncle were from HK$220 to HK$79 and HK$99. Less than RM40 per shirt! Is good deal.

- I am at Starbucks near Star Avenue, BUT not the one that is in the middle of the place overseeing the sea. Why? Because apparently, it is too hot to be seating at the top floor during day time! It's not as great as I'd imagine.

- iWanted to get iPhone 4 but no more stocks, even waiting list at Apple store is 3 weeks away, at least. BUT just got a good news of other source of getting one. FINGER CROSSED!

Lastly, though I wasn't expecting to, there is no MFG here to cheer my up after all my disappointments.

At least one happy thing is that I got the Chinese wording cutters that I want. I can later do Chinese "happy birthday" and I can cut out 福，寿，大吉 which will be great for Chinese new year as well :)

Looks like it might rain and I don't have an umbrella, and the hotel is at least 20 minutes walk away! So I better log off and go now.

I am finally taking a break!!!

I hope.

The thing is, I am supposed to finish up the business paper project by 30 August for my friend to submit on 31 August. Looks like I will be working tomorrow and during my trip in HK. I planned to work late tonight, but I am really feeling very fatigue, one long week of running here and there, trying to meet deadlines, stayed up late... actually, it has been a few weeks of hectic schedule. What happened to me being lady of leisure??

And time flies, today is my 102nd day of vegetarian and tomorrow I will be doing the "hoi chai", most probably having my first bite of meat on the plane, not the most ideal meal for the first bite but it's an introduction for my dinner feast I suppose. Yes, gastric pill, checked. I had my last vegetarian meal with MC and baby just now, it was a great outing, baby was really a good girl, waited patiently for marmee and yiyi to finish their meal. A great girls hang out since dadee BIL is away for his business trip.

As for MFG, I just told LGM that it is both coincide and so happens (which I said happen-ly to be exact haha..) - that my trip to HK is when he is there. Coincide because I knew he was going and it gave me an urge to go HK for a holiday too. So happens, it is my hoi chai so I didn't want to go too early, and it is final sale in HK started early the month, so I also didn't want to go too late. :)

Although I have the pressure of the biz paper project, I am also feeling excited and cheery that I am finally on a holiday. It has been one and a half years since I went for a holiday.

I will try to blog when I am in HK, depending on the internet access and my shopping schedule. ^^

Also so happen I have a new project, one for my friend on writing his business paper, so iMight get something 4 free as part of my project fee. :) Anyways, I will get one there even if I had to pay... hehe...
