A sneak preview of what I've baked as part of my Christmas present. The preparation took more than an hour because there were so much chopping and preparation to do. Baking was another 1 and half hour.
The cake is now been left to mature but I've done some tasting and my review is:
1) Not enough liquor, perhaps use more brandy the next time instead of using Baileys;
2) Can't really taste the chocolate but it gives a different "background note" compared with the normal fruit cakes;
3) The cake is very moist and fruity minus the mix peel which I don't like, great!
4) The almond meal gives a more "chewy" texture to the cake, special...
Need to chop the prunes and dates
Squeezing and zest-ing oranges

Grounded the almond from whole nuts - perhaps a bit too fine

... and finally the cake mix

Left out this picture just now. Though the recipe didn't say, but I couldn't help myself and I've soaked the raisins in brandy before baking. Hee... but still, not enough liquor taste.
