New highlights

Okay, if you want to only reply to one particular person in Facebook, click ONLY the reply icon underneath that particular person's name, don't type in the readily available box, that's reply all.

Anyways, I had my haircut today complete with new highlights. I mean, I've got my highlights back again, the colour had been completely trimmed off after half a year of haircut. MC wanted a hairdo like mine and I thought our beloved hairdresser had done a good job. MC just needs to grow her hair (the back part) slightly longer and yes, we'll be like twins. Haha...
Just baked a lemon cheesecake for my aunty's birthday, Wednesday. I'm still waiting for my cheesecake to cool so that I can transfer it out from the oven (leaving in oven to cool first to avoid cake from sinking). I don't think I can wait till the cake is cool enough to be transferred into the fridge, maybe I'll just leave it overnight and put it into the fridge tomorrow. I only baked the cake at 9pm just now because I'd forgotten to buy lemon for this LEMON cheesecake hence I can't bake last night. Tsk, so forgetful! Or rather, distracted during shopping. Humph...
There were a few friends whom I've not met for a long long time. Today we (me and my official entourage, MC and BIL) met up with two of my ex-colleagues, from my previous previous job. We started off as hoteliers, my gal friend and me is not off to the corporate world with him remaining in the hotel industry. It's gal friend's birthday next week and I wanted to pass her the present.
I'm recently "converted", I think L'occitane makes good gifts.

Don't you just love their wrapping?

And since I've forgotten to take a picture during wrapping, can only give you a sneak peak.

Our hang out place today was at Old Town at Jalan Cheras, it's a stand alone outlet. I would love to have TeaRoom created along this way. Spoke to him about TeaRoom and he said it's going to be tough business unless I'm quite sure of the support I will be getting, instead of just relying on new market. He said I will never be able to survive with people like Starbucks, or Old Town, around. Sigh... Risk, risk, risk.

By the way, Carebear is not around and won't be teaching pump in TC tomorrow (neither would she the Monday that follows). So looks like I'm only gonna do combat - with KG! :)

Messaging Accident

I'm actually very phobia when it comes to texting the wrong person. Happened before, a massive disaster and so very drama. It's also quite dangerous when it comes to emails, I often didn't realize who might be on the recipient list when I click "reply to all". Or like recent incident on Facebook, I didn't realize that the message was between so many people, I've only clicked on "post message". Ok, luckily didn't say anything stupid.

Left shoulder still injured. Did yoga yesterday and I managed to do all the poses but I nearly crashed onto the floor towards the end when I was doing my jumping back (during sun salutation) because there was sudden pain on the shoulder. Got a bit of blue-black on one of my knees though, to prevent crashing on the floor face down. Knee is consider next best option. Imagine blue-black on my face!

Today besides going out to shop for cake baking ingredient (and I forgot a main ingredient), was mainly painting the house. I had planned to make a set of special mini mooncakes, but mum is still cleaning up downstairs, and she's now in the kitchen. So I'm banned. Humph... and I'm getting really sleepy, don't think I want to bake, nor make the mooncakes tonight.

I hope painting a big area of the living room wall was good enough workout for me today. My weights is going up again and I cannot afford to loose my hard-earn figure. No, I don't have super model figure, but I paid a lot of money for PT and it's going to be a waste of money if I revert back to previous weight.

Okay, I better sleep early.

Too hot

I just emailed this:

Hi,

As little as I use the steam room, I actually realized that the steam room has malfunctioned for quite some time. As the pioneer among the Fitness First club, I strongly feel that MML should set a good example for having all facilities in good working condition.

Today I arrived at your club and had been informed and assured that the steam room had been fixed last week. Indeed the steam room was functioning but with a ridiculously high temperature. The temperature was so high that I would not be surprise if someone actually got burnt. If I hadn't have a face towel with me, I might not even be able to hold the handle to let myself out of the steam room.

Besides ensuring that your equipment and facilities are functional, please ensure that the safety standards are met as well to avoid compromising the members' safety. Using this case as a good example - Would anyone be able to tell what is the appropriate temperature for the steam room? And is there a way to measure that? That is, assuming that you do have personnel assigned to carry out routine checks. I trust that you will look into this matter without further delay.

Geezz...

FF membership/ subscription fee is not cheap and I seriously think that members deserve more than what we are getting now. Disagree if you want.

Have been very busy and tired from work lately so I was not able to make it to classes most of the time. Instead of missing the workout altogether, I've settled with using the cardio machines. Today I skipped pump, but mainly because of the "injured" shoulder. Argh... when age catches up, we need to be slightly mellow. Old people are more prone to injuries issit??

Just when I thought I would have a more relaxing gym session today by only doing 30 minutes of cardio followed by some "steam therapy". But, I got a little too much "warmth". Didn't help with remedying my mood.

In one of those moods

Do you sometimes feel like keeping yourself to yourself, don't want to bother about anyone or anything? Just feel like being quiet and do not have the mood to talk to anyone; Lazy to pamper anyone, don't feel like showing any concern and ready to switch to hibernate mode anytime now...

I told me so

How many times have I told myself NOT to stop pump for too long? Just when I was recovering (merely) from my first week back doing pump after skipping for two weeks, I missed class for one whole week again last week.

Today, MC and I went to a pump class at LM with our muscle aches from yesterday's combat. I was having serious shoulder ache and MC her triceps and biceps. I decided to cut down my back track weights so that my shoulder wouldn't hurt too much during clean and press. I was only using 6kgs and seriously, it was too light lah actually. Then suddenly when I was doing triceps push up, I felt serious pain on my left shoulder as though I've twisted my arms. I didn't manage to do much during shoulder track after that. There must be a reason why my left shoulder always hurt, or got hurt.

MC, on the other hand, did very well, has improved a lot. She started pump class about two months ago with using 1kg donut throughout the class, now she uses 2.5kg for warm up, 3.5 for squat, 2.5kg for chest, back track 4.5kg (yes, can change to 5kg already, but serious sis, your squat weights should be heavier), triceps 2.5kgs, biceps 2kgs, shoulder erm... 1kg. Not bad lah. And also can level up already next week. Keep it up!

Today after lunch, we drove passed LDP after One Utama and witness a very serious fire. A car was on fire and mind you, it was an expensive looking car, which I think looked pretty new too.

Looks like a Volvo.

Anyways, very tired after the pump class. I think the instructor who had fast the whole day, had more energy than us members who have been feasting ourselves the whole day. Not exactly, but you know what I mean. Great class lah, even MC had nothing to complain about, hehe... except for her muscle ache tomorrow!

On another page, I'm wondering how much should you pamper someone you like so so much, but whom you are not going out with. I know the best is to strike a balance, but how much on each side to balance it? If I show too much affection, he might just suffocate or feel that I'm too pushy (yeah, is that word again eh); But on the other hand, if I act cool (too cool) then there might as well be no feelings whatsoever, case close, something like that.

Okay, these aside, I seriously need more sleep.

The Pool Party

Was invited to SC and Bernsy's second farewell party last night. This time, MC and BIL were able to come along. That actually allowed me to indulge myself in a few more drinks because BIL can drive us home after the party. Hehe... And guess what? We had an open bar last night, complete with a professional bartender! The drinks were all so delicious.

We (I) were rather hungry when we arrived. Since Bernsy and a few were already eating, we started to help ourselves with food too. And lucky enough, other food, I mean guests, arrived at that same time too. So we got KFC, Burger King and some delicious food from Carebear - a mixed green salad with cheese and balsamic vinaigrette dressing and pasta.

I also got to see how this very famous (heard about it a long time ago) Twister game is played. It's fun looking at them play but I wasn't sure if I am "skillful" (and slim) enough to twine and interweave my-(rather big)-self between others. There might be casualties if I try to go above someone to reach my designated colour spot, with the designated limb. Nevertheless, it was really fun watching, although only one game was played. Maybe no one else dare to join the game because someone will be thrown into the pool. Haha...

It was a fun party and we were all well fed, with both food and drinks. It must have been me not drinking for a long time, I had headache the whole day today, until I got myself a Starbucks Latte. Perhaps it's just caffeine withdrawal, it can't be a hangover, I only had 4 drinks.

MC, BIL and I were at Mid Valley after we (MC and me only) had diligently done our workout at LM - body combat which we had felt extremely satisfied with the amount of sweat, and of course the calories (we assumed) we had burnt.

We were at the shopping mall because I was hoping to get a comfortable walking shoe which is also versatile and presentable enough to go with my casual jeans outfit and dresses. Although I was also one of those who complain about the overpriced shoes at Crocs, I couldn't help but to agree that they do have really comfortable shoes. However, the colour might be a bit too fashionable - shall I get a pair of purple Crocs?

We decided to think about it before we purchase, the shoes are RM139 and above, the ones we might potentially buy is priced at RM169. Not in my comfort zone considering it's casual wear.
However, I did find myself a little something, RM29.90 which is not bad at all.

This chocolate mousse gateau looks really interesting. :)

Bread Pudding for Pool Party

After the last farewell party at SC and Bernsy's, I thought perhaps I'll make the chocolate cake or chocolate cupcakes for the second farewell party - which we just had last night! But due to limited time (had to prepare cake for my last cake decoration class) I had to choose a less time consuming option. My all time favorite (other than the brownies) would be the bread pudding which doesn't take too much time to prepare. The only challenge normally will be getting the croissants to make the pudding. Croissants are normally popular item and will be sold off in the bakery very soon, so must get to bakery early in order to grab some.

I was also up to trying out my new "toy". Actually it's not that new, MC bought this for me when she came back. In fact, I've used the ramekins that came with it and I've only not used the torch before.

Wanted to use it to caramelize the brown sugar on top of the pudding.

Okay lah, not too bad, but I must sieve the brown sugar the next time to get a more even colour on the surface. Actually, I think it's actually better still, using the oven.

Finally the vanilla sauce, with a little bit of brandy.
