Banana Chocolate Chips Muffin

I'm sure this time they can be called muffins...

So happened mum bought some bananas a few days ago. And I've bought these new muffin paper cups which look too cute to be left aside in the cupboard. Finally, I do want to confirm a banana muffin recipe so I can "move on". (Carebear, the paper cups are good enough without the muffin trays actually - you can see from the picture that they were not supported by the tray)

I didn't try any after I baked them, too full. Will try one for breakfast tomorrow morning perhaps. The fact that the muffins had risen very well, I already liked this recipe. I leave it to the tasters to come back with the feedback.

The recipe made 12 which is just the good portion for tea-time bake. Mum bought Pisang Rastali which was different from those I normally got at the supermarket. I would expect them to give better aroma actually. And no banana essence added but added chocolate chips just to be "safe" - so that they could some how also please the chocoholic.

Thought the cupcakes were rather dull, so glazed them with honey to add some shine. However, I wouldn't expect the honey to give much aroma since it's just the Giant brand honey. Nonetheless, I think I could still get the effect - which I hope will last.

Feedback time? :)

Hm...Ya.. No Banana taste.. Maybe not enough banana? The texture is a bit "chewy", as in a bit bread like. I prefer muffin bit cake texture (personal preference la :P) The muffin is sweet enough for tho (In fact, bit too sweet). Then again, you know I do not have a sweet tooth. :)

Thanks for making my Breakfast!

Thx dear for the feedback. Cousin sis feedback yesterday saying no banana taste too. It's an English recipe so not sure what type of banana it was based on, and not sure how big those 2 bananas are in the recipe. (I used about 6 bananas which I assume is smaller than those common ones in England). Will definately try to finalize a banana muffin recipe some time (I tried 5 recipes last time before I confirmed my pineapple tart recipe, with many guinea pigs sacrificing).

Waiting for LGM's official feedback :)

ok just had my 2nd muffin for late brekkie.

Presentation wise - Pass
Texture wise - this time it tasted a bit English... Purrfect for tea time break.

Taste wise...

Loved the honey glaze at the top.

No hint of banana. My suggestion is you use pisang emas/raja (ripe ones ya)

Also noticed the choc chip has sunken down to the bottom. (is it the same wif others?)
