in preparation for CNY

It's a tradition to get new stuff for CNY.

I haven't gotten new clothes yet, only a few casual tops which my mum bought me the other day - one in red and gold! OMG! I'll be looking like an ang pow packet myself.

Got my new hair, check them out the next time you see me - if you catch me without my bandanna - ok, nothing new about my hair, the same trim. But I got a new highlight in copper brown. Told my hairdresser NOT to use the blonde tone this time! Quite a disaster the last one.

New contact lens - I was suppose to change to a new pair some time ago, but no budget. Not that I've got loads of money now, just that the power is different, and the old lens get dry, really dry at the end of the day and cause blur vision. So, another pair of colour lens, which should be the same colour but looking darker (perhaps my old lens had faded?). This is the "magic" lens series with a darker outer ring which is supposed to make my eyes look bigger. Hmm... really? Check them out the next time you look into my eyes!

Some new (as I quote) inner beauty. But no, you can't check these out, unless your timing and mine are the same in the locker room. Haha...

On the other spending account, I had serviced my car, it's done, but I need to send the car back for engine timing belt replacement, which will cost me RM500 ish. Humphhhh... I can see my new year resolution heading down the drain (the one that says "I shall not overspend on my credit card) sighssss... I will leave the tyres (almost 3 years old) until after CNY.

Need some new office attire, and new sandals perhaps. But no time, and have not come across anything I like yet. Perhaps I will pay a visit to Nichi at Sg Besi.

I've also got some new found feelings, new point of views and new ways of handling stuff and people. It's not all that bad actually.

Took my weekend off from baking, I will be having heavy baking next weekend. Nevertheless, I've allocated today to prepare the pineapple jam for the tart, which took me 6 hours end to end to handle 8 pineapples - removing the scaly skin, doing the spiral thingy to remove the divits, slice, chop, puree... cooking time was almost 2 hours since there were a lot of pineapples.

This year I've got MC and BIL with me to celebrate CNY. I mean, had them last year too, but not here in KL, we were all in London last year. How time flies.

It's going to be a really busy week ahead for me. Thank god Friday is a public holiday! (for KL only hehe...)
